We're not gonna die. We can't die, Bendis. You know why? Because we are so very pretty. We are just too pretty for God to let us die.

If I only had a brain...

Are there (decent) authors out there who've posted a novel-length fic over the space of more than a year?

Yeah. Carrie, "Take Your Time", took two years, as I recall.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

You mean, it's taken a year for the whole thing to be posted?

Yes. This describes a fic-in-progress. I've been working on it when I can, which isn't often, I'm afraid.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Feldman's writing a Farscape/Changing Rooms crossover. I cannot wait.

Huh.

That'll be interesting. I wonder whose rooms will get redone, and by whom. Or, will certain decorators, carpenters, etc. find themselves far, far from home?

Are there (decent) authors out there who've posted a novel-length fic over the space of more than a year?

Um. That would be me. If a story-series counts. "Life During Wartime" totals over 500K by now, I think, and started in fall of 1999. Marasmus & I posted a 250K chunk this week, and there are three more stories in the works.

Although the feedback's been thin enough I wonder if anyone is going to be around to read the finale. t shrugs

I'm not sure how long Career Change has taken. It's going to go into next year, I know.

edit: If it even counts. I see it as one over-arcing story with episodes

Apparently I'm the first person to notice this?

The Guardian has an article on HP fic today. Also references Buffy, Xena, & Trekfic, and provides the mandatory link to FF.net.

Wonder if the writer of the article knew about the plagiarism issue that's tarnished the writer they chose to focus on... probably not. ::shrugs::

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Okay, that article sucks. "Scottie"? "Dr. Spock"?

I'm a bit annoyed since I know for a fact that someone on the Grauniad's editorial staff has a deep and multi-fandom knowledge of fanfic. Clearly she was not consulted for this article. t shrugs

I'm gonna have to poke her.
