It's like, in the middle of all this, I'm paranoid that you'll think I don't like poetry.

Always Anti-fascist!

Is there a 12-step for me? Yes, probably, but they don't get through much of the meetings because they are pairing off the men in the group.

As long as we can't sing it all to the tune of "the Yellow Rose of Texas."

t pedant In fact, there are plenty of Dickinson poems that you can't sing to "The Yellow Rose of Texas". Example:

I rose -- because He sank -- I thought it would be opposite -- But when his power dropped -- My Soul grew straight.

I cheered my fainting Prince -- I sang firm -- even -- Chants -- I helped his Film -- with Hymn --

And when the Dews drew off That held his Forehead stiff -- I met him -- Balm to Balm --

I told him Best -- must pass Through this low Arch of Flesh -- No Casque so brave It spurn the Grave --

I told him Worlds I knew Where Emperors grew -- Who recollected us If we were true --

And so with Thews of Hymn -- And Sinew from within -- And ways I knew not that I knew -- till then -- I lifted Him --

(And anyway, for ABCB quatrains in alternating iambic tetrameter and trimeter, I prefer the Gilligan's Island theme.) t /pedant

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

(And anyway, for ABCB quatrains in alternating iambic tetrameter and trimeter, I prefer the Gilligan's Island theme.)

I was JUST going to post that!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

God, Angus, thanks for reminding me that I will never write like Emily Dickinson. Her best stuff is... it speaks to the dark, achy places in the soul.

Peel it and see

Wow, that was some poem.

Ha! I'm now ashamed to admit that I didn't even read it beyond what was necessary to establish the meter (or rather the non-meter). I just copied and pasted it from one of the (several) complete Dickinson archives online. Gotta love that internet!

Now I'd better go back and read the poem.

t edit OK, you're right--what a great poem! (Mind you, a random Dickinson poem is usually a pretty good bet.)

Ple, didn't get a chance to say, but I caught up on the Bitchy Fic last night, and looooooved your story, even though am decidedly NOT seeking out other B/Wes. Want to know what happens next.

"Like God's own chocolate, I'd lick her shadow off a hot sidewalk." ~ Christopher Moore

Howdy. I just wanted to know, am I the only one that's pissed off at FanFiction.net for eliminating all nc17 smut...I mean, stories? Now where will I get my daily quota?!

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

The BfA. (See links section)

Also UCSL, Silverlake, and Glass Onion archives.

I hadn't really looked at ff.net in months before the decision was made.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I'm pissed off to an extent, largely because there are already so many problems with NC-17 being conflated with porn being conflated with slash. But I understand why the decision was made. Plus, it was never my primary source of fic.
