I've seen 71. If it's a big sprawling Biblical, Western or Mob epic, I have probably not seen it.
And the omissions -- holy shit! I like
Shawshank
as much as the next gal and I've defended my love for
Titanic
right here in this very thread, but even I'm not cracked-out enough to attempt to defend bumping
The Third Man
and
The Manchurian Candidate
to make room for them. That's insane.
Also not sold on
Sullivan's Travels
as the lone Sturges film. They couldn't toss out
Forrest Gump
to make room for
The Lady Eve?
(Though you could also make a strong case for
Palm Beach Story, Morgan's Creek
or
Unfaithfully Yours --
in point of fact, Sturges is on the list about four times fewer than he deserves and
Gump
once more than it deserves).
They couldn't toss out Forrest Gump
Do you even need the rest of that sentence?
Megan, Wikipedia has it here.

You are so very, very, very, very, very right.
Megan, the list: [link]
Color me VERY surprised at that list of movies Hec has never seen. I'm agog.
Also color me surprised that Corwood hasn't seen Best Years of our Lives. (Side note, the non-actor in question actually has
two
hooks and
no
hands, and won an Oscar for that performance that year).
And yes, as Hec said, it's a bit of a message movie, but it's VERY GOOD, and I LOVE IT! Mostly for Fredric March, but also for my secret silver screen girlfriend, Myrna Loy. The rest of the cast is pretty damned fantastic too.
As for saying something about a movie I've never seen:
Pippi Longstocking is Swedish, and therefore stupid and boring.
I've never seen a Preston Sturges movie, but I hate sturgeons, so I bet they're all fishy!
I have seen Pippi Longstocking, and on behalf of all Swedes everywhere, I say--"PFFFFTTTT!!" to Mr. Sean.
Here's my 100 favorite movies as of 2 years ago: [link] I should update it, though.
Midnight Cowboy and Easy Rider are irrelevant.
I'm no slouch when it comes to uninformed opinions, but that exercise was way hard. Relatedly, the biggest problem with that list for me is sentimentality-- Star Wars? E.T.? It's A Wonderful Life? GWTW? Come on, people.
Oh, did anyone watch last night when Dustin Hoffman was weeping about his contribution to mankind in playing a woman and showing men how awesome unattractive women can be?
I'd be worried about that Kath, but *SWEDISH*!
