'Shindig'
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I think he'll drive me to divorce and then sweettalk me into getting back together. Anyhoo, that'll be water under the bridge when me & Daniel Craig get it on.
I just assumed that you'd be married to them all at once.
Hec has pointed out that I have dibs on Clive form way way WAY back. So BACK OFF alla youse.
I can't get that stupid Melissa Etheridge song out of my head! I know it won to show support for the movie (which, of course, I LOVE and etc.) but it's a TERRIBLE song! ugh
I'm glad I was finally able to see the Departed on Friday night. I knew he wouldn't win but I was really rooting for Mark Wahlberg. He was terrific. Am at least glad that he was sitting behind Scorese and got a ton of screentime last night. delicious!
They should have presented and then made out.
Remember, if Owen gets cast as a Bond villain you may get half your wish. [link]
Okay, I just stopped by the Oscar site, hoping they would have video. They did. At first I thought (because everybody's picture on the winner's list was also a link to video) that they had full acceptance speeches from everybody, but no, just a highlight reel (with bits from everybody).
I have to say, it made me cry a little to find out that Marty not only won, but he got to accept with Coppola, Lucas and Spielberg standing onstage next to him.
but he got to accept with Coppola, Lucas and Spielberg standing onstage next to him.
Did you see their bit before hand?
Lucas: When it comes to Oscars this proves that it's better to give than receive.
Coppola and Spielberg together: No it isn't.
Also, the Little Miss Sunshine trailer they had at the Oscar site was one I hadn't seen, and it made me cry (and LAUGH) a LOT.
I have to say that was my second favorite part of the evening. My favoritest part was the Ferrell/Black/Reily song.
