I just assumed that you'd be married to them all at once.

Punishingly Intricate

I can't get that stupid Melissa Etheridge song out of my head! I know it won to show support for the movie (which, of course, I LOVE and etc.) but it's a TERRIBLE song! ugh

I'm glad I was finally able to see the Departed on Friday night. I knew he wouldn't win but I was really rooting for Mark Wahlberg. He was terrific. Am at least glad that he was sitting behind Scorese and got a ton of screentime last night. delicious!

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

They should have presented and then made out.

Remember, if Owen gets cast as a Bond villain you may get half your wish. [link]

Okay, I just stopped by the Oscar site, hoping they would have video. They did. At first I thought (because everybody's picture on the winner's list was also a link to video) that they had full acceptance speeches from everybody, but no, just a highlight reel (with bits from everybody).

I have to say, it made me cry a little to find out that Marty not only won, but he got to accept with Coppola, Lucas and Spielberg standing onstage next to him.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

but he got to accept with Coppola, Lucas and Spielberg standing onstage next to him.

Did you see their bit before hand?

Lucas: When it comes to Oscars this proves that it's better to give than receive.
Coppola and Spielberg together: No it isn't.

Also, the Little Miss Sunshine trailer they had at the Oscar site was one I hadn't seen, and it made me cry (and LAUGH) a LOT.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I have to say that was my second favorite part of the evening. My favoritest part was the Ferrell/Black/Reily song.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

I very much want to see "Lives of Others."

I saw "Science of Sleep" this weekend and loved it. Oh, Gabriel, how awesome are you? And the way everything was constructed, and the three languages, and, and, and-- Just lovely. I have to own that.

Also saw "Hot Fuzz." Are you getting that in the states? Because HOMG it is so funny I think I broke something in the cinema. And the best part is that, in cleverly mocking the cop film genre, they actually end up making a *really smart cop film!* It works on so many levels, people! And the way Simon Pegg physically transformed himself for the role---it's rockin' stuff all around.

NO!

Lucas: When it comes to Oscars this proves that it's better to give than receive.
Coppola and Spielberg together: No it isn't.

OMG, that's HILARIOUS!

Poor George, getting picked on for never getting an Oscar. I suppose the fact that he's (probably) richer than any of them will keep him comforted.
