Giles: I jump out of the circle, jump back in, and, and, shake my gourd. Buffy: Hey, I think I know this ritual. The ancient shamans were next called upon to do the Hokey-Pokey and to turn themselves around.

Always Anti-fascist!

Oh, I think I'd like it now. I was eighteen then(or something) and still trying to be Normal, which I sucked at. Yeah, there are definitely things on DVD that make me think "Huh...who cares about that enough..."

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Hey now! A Life Less Ordinary has a ROCKIN' few scenes.

Oh, I'll agree with that (loved the kaoroke scene myself, the end credits and, as Matt says, just about everything Holly Hunter did - her clench-teethed voice was a thing of hilarity), but way too much of it was painful to watch (the Ewan scenes early on when he gets into trouble are watch from the hall bad, and really didn't need to be).

Despite it being a total stereotype role, I ADORED Tony Shaloub in QUICK CHANGE.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I think my favorite Straithairn role was Sneakers. Second was Passionfish.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Straithairn was really creepy in Dolores Claiborne--that scene where he forced his daughter to give him a hand job on the ferry gave me the chills.

Art Crawl!!!

From Wizard News:

Rumor: Warner Bros. thinking of firing Daniel Radcliffe
According to The Daily Mail in the UK, executives at Warner Bros, producers of the Harry Potter movies, are said to have been "utterly dismayed" by publicity shots of Daniel Radcliffe naked for his appearance in Equus, as well as the fact that he spends a full 10 minutes on stage without his clothes

I hope it's not true.

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

I think pulling him would be a really poor choice. Everyone's invested in him as the character. (I might reconsider seeing the rest of the movies.)

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I'd stop paying good money to see them, no question. It's not like he's flashing random people on the street, it's a decades-old critically acclaimed (if hard to watch) play.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

I went to see Ghost Rider tonight, and as I predicted, watching Nicholas Cage scream in agony repeatedly as his flesh burned away made him tolerable for once. Not to mention justifying his standard bug-eyed shrieking acting style, which is actually appropriate for what his character goes through in this instance. Would that the filmmakers had tried the same tactic to make Eva Mendes watchable. And I know Wes Bentley used to be able to act quite well at one point, so I'm assuming that his long break from showbiz is to blame for having lost all subtlety and controlof his voice and facial expressions.

The CGI in the action scenes was very good, as was Peter Fonda. And Sam Elliot's brief screen time was easily worth the price of admission by itself .

Daniel came home from LA! So we listened to Nena and ate crackers in bed and watched Mrs. Miniver and Mr. Skeffington , and I should probably consider meeting some straight men before I'm horribly spoiled, but anyway. I picked Mr. Skeffingon after vaguely remembering that it was mentioned here a while back. And while that review isn't wrong... dude, the movie is awesome! The word "melodrama" doesn't convey it. It was mega-melodrama! Plus, some really funny lines, even before you get to the come-uppance section. And we spent a lot of time wondering what kind of life poor George had.

Though I admit that the score is ultra-mega-melodramatic. When the dramatic chords precede the dramatic things happening, you may have gone a tad overboard.

I mean, okay, it was crazy, yes. But it certainly wasn't boring!

Though I do think The Golden Earrings is still weirder.
