I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

The eyeroll! I love the eyeroll!!

That's already my favorite part of the movie.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Damn. Ellen Barkin is smoking hot, and I totally forgot to list her when listing Crushes of My Youth the other day.

DAMN.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Inevitably, my favorite Ellen Barkin performance is in Buckaroo Banzai.

Penny Priddy. Oh yeah.

There's a gender-switch comedy she's in.... Right! Switch Blake Edwards movie. I don't remember much about it. I doubt it was all that good. But I remember liking her performance in it very much.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I liked her performance better in The Big Easy, though Buckaroo Banzai is clearly the more awesome movie.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

But...Ian McShane is awesome.

Or are you afraid it'll become, "The Dark is Rising, Cocksucker"?

Art Crawl!!!

The rumor was that Christopher Eccleston was up for the part.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

"The Dark is Rising, Cocksucker"?

HAHAHAHA!!

I've had the DiR books forever without reading them (eyes the ever-growing to-read pile sadly) but if McShane's gonna be involved, I'm gonna have to move it to the top of the pile.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I thought Merriman was supposed to be quite old? White-haired and distinguished is what I am remembering, vaguely. I would have said that Lovejoy/Wossname was about twenty years too young for the part.

I mean, except inasmuch as "over forty" means "almost dead" in actor-speak.
