Buffista Movies 5: Development Hell
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Is it capoeira?
Yep, capoeira. Stupidest fucking capoeira scene I've watched, so I wish I could call it something less dear to my heart. But it is capoeira for sure.
I vaguely remember hearing about an interview in which Soderbergh and/or Clooney said that they knew they screwed up with O12 and were making O13 as a remedy for that.
Yay! Yay!
The eyeroll! I love the eyeroll!!
That's already my favorite part of the movie.
Damn. Ellen Barkin is smoking hot, and I totally forgot to list her when listing Crushes of My Youth the other day.
DAMN.
Inevitably, my favorite Ellen Barkin performance is in Buckaroo Banzai.
Penny Priddy. Oh yeah.
There's a gender-switch comedy she's in.... Right! Switch Blake Edwards movie. I don't remember much about it. I doubt it was all that good. But I remember liking her performance in it very much.
I liked her performance better in The Big Easy, though Buckaroo Banzai is clearly the more awesome movie.
