Hey, what's The Libertine about anyway? And why will it be one of the most controversial movies of the year?
I could Google, I guess, but I think Buffista-ing it will produce more interesting answers....
'Heart Of Gold'
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I heard it's a crappy movie, and that stays with me more than anything else.
It's about the 2nd Earl of Rochester.
I think this is the third time it's been released -- they keep trying, and it keeps bombing.

I also heard that while the title is appropriate for the man it's about, you wouldn't really know that from the movie - at least not from what they show you, as opposed to tell you.
I was going to say -- that movie hasn't come out yet?
It's a terribly badly directed movie. Muddy and poorly edited and meandering. Depp has some good moments and so does Samantha Morton, but the film itself is horribly tiresome.
This is classic--the Man in Black meets the Man in Black. Up there with her meeting of the two Captain Jacks!

My mind went to Will Smith rather than Westley. Glad I was wrong!

Huh. I went there expecting the Captain Jack from Dr. Who. There are just too damn many Jacks in fandom these days.
