Bon, the friend I saw it with also used the Dr. Christmas defense. Talk about faint praise and damnation.
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

PJ isn't doing The Hobbit.
The studio dropped him ? Damn.
What's this LOTR "prequel" the article kept refering to?
The Silmarillion, I assume.
No, The Hobbit.
They say:
The Hobbit or a second proposed Rings prequel film
I assume the second one is the Silmarillion.
Well, they're about 15 years late to hire David Lean for the project, so I'm interested to find out just who the studio thinks will be able to do another film set in Middle Earth that won't seem horribly inferior to Jackson's movies. Do they even own the New Zealand sets for the Shire, or are those the property of Wingnut Films?
I wonder if the prequel is what they(MGM) were talking about when they said stuff about using material from the footnotes.
We send our very best wishes to whomever has the privilege of making The Hobbit and look forward to seeing the film on the big screen.
Bzzt! Wrong, Peter!
We got to go there - but not back again ...
Aw.
