A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I enjoy Cruel Intentions, but I attribute that to Reese and Ryan (and even Selma) much more than to SMG, whose character I find annoying. Probably the writing of the character as much as anything, but still.
I recently saw Valmont and like equivalent character as played by Annette Bening quite a bit more. A bit less manipulatively evil for the sake of it, with more actual grief and anger at the Cecile character. Plus, nobody could ever qualify Bening as anything less than a stellar actress.
Valmont kicked Dangerous Liasons' Rococo ass.
I loved Fairuza Balk as Cecile. Perfect casting. I like Fairuza.

She actually looked like the child Cecile was supposed to be. I loved her, too. Plus, Colin Firth. Hellloooooo.
Are we going to be fighting like this about the Capote flicks next year?
Capote = OTPicture.
t squeezes Dan Futterman
The first act of The Body.
I think Gellar is a swell actress but if I leveled a javelin at one part of The Body, it would her in the first act.
I really liked Infamous. But I really liked Capote too. This is why I'm bad at "choose your top ten" questions.
