Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't think I've seen many of her movies, but all the trailers (save Scooby Doo & Deux) make me just think "Slay already!"

Is she good?

Hey. New board.

Is she good?

Sources point to "No."

I never thought she was really great even in Buffy, most of the time, though her acting never hampered my enjoyment of the show (unlike, say, Julie Benz or Luke, back in Season One).

Always Anti-fascist!

I think she's had her moments though. "Prophesy Girl", for instance.

Hey. New board.

Oh, she had her moments, no doubt. Lots of them. Prophecy Girl is indeed an excellent example of that. The first act of The Body. Lots of eps and scenes where there were no Emmy-style Emotional Moments, but she was completely on in the Buffy role. She just wasn't spectacular with enough consistency that I ever thought "This girl can, should, and will go on to a very successful, diverse film career." Unlike, say, Alexis Denisof (AD for Joker!) or Seth Green (Seth Green for... getting more parts in better movies!) or Amber Tamblyn (Amber Tamblyn for some role other than SMG's little sister in The Grudge 2! Seriously, if she follows that path I might die (and yes, I know Amber Tamblyn isn't in Buffy or Angel and therefore this is random (I also know that it's uncouth and confusing to put parenthetical expressions inside of other parenthetical expressions and I don't care (I love SMG's delivery of that line in "Welcome to the Hellmouth", speaking of moments when she's on (just the "I don't care" part, when she's talking to Giles in the library about the dead guy, not the rest (obviously))))))

In other news, I finally saw Marie Antoinette the other day. So pretty! I quite liked it.

Anti-Freeze: What number is Joss Whedon on your speed dial?

Wouldn't that be sort of counterproductive, what with having to wait until Hell freezes over to make the call?

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

yes, I know Amber Tamblyn isn't in Buffy or Angel

Yes, she was.

Always Anti-fascist!

She was pretty unpleasant about leaving, wasn't she? I mean, I can't blame an actress for thinking "Hey, I don't really want to be doing Shakespeare at forty having the audience yell out "Hey, Buffy, where's your stake?' or for finding week-to-week tv rigorous, but there is such a thing as...gratitude or something. She could've been working in Wal-Mart.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Yes, she was.

Yep, she played Dawn's friend.

And, should it concern me that I followed all of Gris' parenthetical asides with no problems?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I think she's an excellent TV actress with skills that don't translate well to the big screen. (She could probably do ensemble comedy fairly well. Maybe an ensemble comedy law show? Or even ensemble drama, if one must. She'd be good in a law show of any sort.)

Gris - Nov 15, 2006 5:57:06 pm PST #5715 of 10001
Hey. New board.

Yes, she was.

Oh yeah, I forgot! Not exactly the highlight of her acting career, though. She was also in The Ring for about 2 minutes before dying a horrible death, thus making her not so much a SMG follower to the American Remake of Japanese Remakes as a leader. Sort of. Technically.
