Hey. New board.

SA, may I recommend seeing The Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D, then? I haven't done it yet but seriously... how could it NOT be satisfying?

I still really want to see Marie Antoinette.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Apparently slurping the dregs of one's soda is a faux pas of more than usual severity if doing so happens to make a sound similar to Kayako's signature death rattle while one is in the midst of a Grudge movie showing. The people seated near me were not amused.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I want a .wav of that hideous sound to use as my cellphone ringtone.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Hmmm.... I was hoping for jaw-droppingly awesome, too.

On the other hand, it's nice to know that Nolan is just a human and has a so-so movie or two in him.

I didn't think it was jaw-droppingly awesome either, but it was very good. Not what I expected from the trailers, though.

I actually don't like the NBC.

Ha!

They're showing all three Saws here as a halloween thing. Gyah, NO THANK YOU.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I saw The Prestige last night. I thought The Illusionist was better for a period look and for generally being pretty, but The Prestige had a better, more complex plot. I was still a step ahead of most of the mystery of The Prestige, but at least a couple of things kept me guessing. Plus, it was fun to listen to the people in the film arguing about whether that was Bowie or not.

It's off to Oogie Boogie's with you!

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

if they gave it to him people might assume it was a comedy

It wasn't?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Plus, it was fun to listen to the people in the film arguing about whether that was Bowie or not.

See what I mean about the mustache?

I think Freddy Quimby should walk out of here a free hotel

Saw Marie Antoinette and The Last Kiss tonight. Man, I didn't go in with great expectations for either of them, but I didn't walk out terribly satisfied either.

I saw Marie Antoinette last night too and, with reservations, thought it was pretty darn successful. I'm slowly convincing myself that I haven't ever been exposed to as many dunderhead reviews from professional critics as I have been with this film though. Hate it, fine, but don't whinge about it being stultifying in its relentless hedonism when its main concern is capturing the way relentless hedonism is stultifying.

Also, I thought Kirsten Dunst acted all good and stuff.
