Inara: So, explain to me again why Zoe wasn't in the dress? Mal: Tactics, woman. Needed her in the back. 'Sides, those soft cotton dresses feel kinda nice. It's the whole... air-flow.

I know which one P-C thought was PotC. And I know what it really was.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

OOOH.

Now I remember. I haven't seen it, but is that The Fog ?

Yeppers.

And Sean, you really didn't need the ? after Phantasm. I mean, dude. Ice cream vendor?

Feel free to take another look at them. These will be easier for the party guests as they'll be working in small teams (although harder because they are not really pop culture vultures).

Yeah, between the ice cream vendor, and the mortician, I figured that had to be right, but it's been so long, and I was worried I'd gone all soft in the head.

From the perspective of someone who doesn't know horror at all:

I am only positive of #2 because it takes place at my alma mater and was therefore required freshman-year viewing. I haven't seen them, but I'm pretty sure of 3, 13, 18, and maybe 4 and 8. Is Blair Witch there? Because I've actually seen that but none of the descriptions seemed to fit at first glance.

megan, as someone who likes horror, and has seen quite a bit, I've so far only figured out 14 out of the 20.

I think my favorite was the clue for number 5, as it perfectly pinpoints the part of the plot that carries the main theme and message of the movie.

I don't even have to look because I know which one you're talking about, and that's my favorite too. Very clever, and pretty much requires actually having seen the movie rather than just knowing the basic premise. (So it's sort of a cheat since it's not so much a "synopsis" of the movie itself, technically.)

When I was watching the movie for the first time a while ago, I thought, "If that happens, this movie will be so awesome." And I was so surprised and impressed it actually happened.

And megan, I guessed your whitefonted one was number 9.

Upon re-reading, I realized that too. Also, that I've seen 6 and 11.
