I'd say your sister is right. If the remake does happen, it sounds like all the sicker aspects will be excised and it'll simply be another revenge-type flick.
Has anyone seen or heard anything about Renaissance? I saw a little ad on my screen, and it looks really cool. Like a Sin City flipbook come to life.

The few things I heard about it were making comparisons to SKY CAPTAIN... in that, yeah, outrageously cool visuals, but a script really would have helped. Lots of interesting actors doing the voices as I recall, though.
Well, I really enjoyed Sky Captain ! Fun popcorn movie.
