Yeah, the run up the oliphant looks off, but not as bad, to me anyway. The horse thing is the only thing that takes me out of the movie.

For a refresher.
And in other TTT comments - we watched the extended version and Jeebus Christie is it looooooong. I fast forarded through all of the annoying hobbit stuff.
If they had just had him take a moment to switch bow hands, it would have been flawless. I have to just not watch that every time.
inevitable movie-throwing x-post

Dude, I watched the extended marathon in the theatres leading up to TRotK. 12 1/2 hours in the theatre--all while I was six months pregnant and after drinking a large soda.
Or possibly wearing Depends to the show.

I did this! Without being pregnant. But I would like to point out that the smell of several thousand hardcore LOTR geeks in an enclosed space for 12 hours doesn't make the movies feel any shorter.

Me too! The theater might have reserved a bathroom for us trilogy goers - I know we got free refills on our popcorn. And pizza before RotK. I found it a longer day when we did it at home one New Year's Day, probably because we were laxer about sticking to a schedule.
I watched Darren Aronofsky on The Directors this afternoon. He's pretty adorkable, and now I am really looking forward to The Fountain.
I've been seeing a lot of commercials over the past few days for Flyboys, which I was considering seeing just because there are so few films set in the WWI era, but I think I'm definitely going to see it after reading the Flick Filosopher's review. There have been some really good movies coming out in the past few years that have a real old-fashioned feel to them, and it sounds like this one might be another.
I did Ring Day! That was Hella fun. Yeah, that's all I've got.
It was weird to not watch the extended cut.
Oh wow that was a good review. The trailers had turned me off of the movie, but maybe it's a case of bad marketing.
