Inara: I think she looks adorable. Mal: Yeah, but I never said it.

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Mine too! Mmm, Johnny Case.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

I've never seen Holiday, either. But now I can change that!

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

The Awful Truth is one of my all time favorite movies. So very screwball-- and sweet.

Always Anti-fascist!

I just saw that one on TCM a few months ago and thought what a Hec moment that was. The movie was very funny, too, although more "stylized" than stuff I usually like, but for CG I'll pick the urban grit out of my fingernails, although he's not the reason I like "Girl Friday." Totally wanna be her.

I laughed like a loon on goofballs all through The Awful Truth.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Basic Instinct 2 trailer [link]

It looks bloody awful, but my question is how did whoever made the sequel get these respectable British actors to work on this flick? David Thewlis and Charlotte Rampling are both fine actors, and I've been very impressed by what I've seen of David Morrissey. They must have been strapped for cash.

A friend linked to this yesterday: [link]

Any description I may come up for this (it's a... music video) cannot possibly do it justice.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I can't comment on the video. My English is insufficient.

As for the trailer--my god, it makes her look bad. I assume the British actors will undergo a Teflon effect, but Stone looks ludicrous. And desperate.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Oh, that trailer looks godawful.

Stone looks ludicrous. And desperate.

Lord, yes. I've only ever seen about 40 minutes of Basic Instinct, and it was mostly crap, but in the midst of the crappitude she stood out like... like a thing that stands out. Not a good actor, not doing anything particularly interesting with lines that were badly written anyhow, but physically she was amazing. She looked so good on camera and in motion, and she seemed so at home in her body and seemed to be having such evil fun playing with her sexuality. This cool, classy blonde stinking of funk, like a feral Grace Kelly. The movie itself still mostly blew, but she was weirdly riveting.

If the sequel trailer accurately represents the whole movie, what the hell happened? It's all just gone. Ludicrous and desperate, indeed.

The music video, on the other hand? Super fantastic!
