It's all about choices, Faith. The ones we make, and the ones we don't. Oh, and the consequences. Those are always fun.

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I strongly believe that this season will provide the most realistic depiction of inner-city education ever set to film.

t thwap!

Duhhhh. I'd completely forgotten that was going to be the focus.

Corwood, babe, if there wasn't a Mrs. Corwood, and assorted laws of time and space to consider, I believe I'd bend you over a patrol car for that. And not just cause I'm gonna have a hard time with both less McNulty and trying not to make Pres a woobie. Yes, The Wire's all about the kids this year. Junior- high kids.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

And Snoop! Snoop's a major character this time around.

I believe I'd bend you over a patrol car for that.

Long as you're gentle. It's my first time.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

erika, Corwood - did you see Tim Goodman's love letter to The Wire?

Oh, yeah. Never have I seen a critic go so fanboy! If I didn't love that show so much myself, I'd call him a punk-assed bitch, probably.(probably just in my head...I'd hate for our e-correspondence to turn so ugly. He thinks I'm clever cause our obsessions match.) But, all the same he sounds about one pixel from writing "Tim Goodman- Simon" in his notebook. But is that something about me, or the culture right now that his love is more awkward to me than Stephanie Zacherek's movie reviews of what sucked out loud this week? Maybe it's like Colin Firth said in "Fever Pitch": Adults aren't supposed to be mad about anything. What do y'all think? And he may be trying to save the show through passion itself, something to which I can't relate(cough) The Wire likes carrots.(Cough)

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Wait, didn't the HBO Channel thread get created?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Just what I've been wondering.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Are we topic-nannying now? That's kinda new.

Hey... I mentioned a movie. I call it vaguely on topic.
