Angel: I appreciate you guys looking out for Connor all summer. It's just—he's confused. He needs time. That's all. Fred: Right. Time, and some corporal punishment with a large heavy mallet. Not that I'm bitter.

Buffista Movies 5: Development Hell

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Center Stage might be a good recent choice, though I'd go with Fame as the better movie of that ilk.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I'd put the kids in School of Rock at 11-13.

Now tagless for your comfort.

The Boyfriend School.

I'd be remiss if I didn't say: S4 of The Wire (starting Sunday).

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

The Chorus is a great little movie, but the kids are elementary aged. Don't know if that makes a difference.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

It took me a few blinks to realize this wasn't a suggestion for Suzi.

It is! Wasn't the request for film about the education system? Given how realistically The Wire's handled everything else about the public sector, I strongly believe that this season will provide the most realistic depiction of inner-city education ever set to film.

Always Anti-fascist!

Corwood, babe, if there wasn't a Mrs. Corwood, and assorted laws of time and space to consider, I believe I'd bend you over a patrol car for that. And not just cause I'm gonna have a hard time with both less McNulty and trying not to make Pres a woobie. Yes, The Wire's all about the kids this year. Junior- high kids.

And Snoop! Snoop's a major character this time around.

I believe I'd bend you over a patrol car for that.

Long as you're gentle. It's my first time.
