P.S. I agree that the Hooker Girlfriend episode of Battlestar Galactica was easily the worst of the worst.
I'm just pretending it was bad fanfic that somehow accidentally got filmed and broadcast....
it could happen....
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

It's happened before. "Spock's Brain."
Yeah, saving Spock's brain was a mistake. As soon as they did that, people figured it was OK to save Hitler's brain....
Actually, Hitler's brain was saved first (1963).

Oh, I wasn't sure about that....
From IMDB:
I assume everyone knows that They Saved Hitler's Brain is basically two bad movies crushed together as one. The first 20-30 minutes were produced in the mid-sixties, and the rest was produced in the late fifties...a fact that really comes through in the production values.
Huh.
OMG, He wrote Apollo's Hooker Girlfriend episode! I shun him for life.
Yeah, but he also wrote the classic Smallville episode Perry! Which failed to suck!

I haven't seen this one yet. Did he write an episode with Apollo and a hooker and fail to get Lee naked? 'Cause I'd agree on the shunning, if that's the case.
It was pretty funny that *anyone* would believe the king of the towers drug market is a grey-haired white guy
Yeah, but that's no "I knew it was your first time. I wanted it to be special."
IIRC, according to the commentary, there were directorial difficulties with the episode, which necessitated some rewriting after shooting had finished, including making it into a flashback plot structure. IOW, the writer may have turned in a truly excellent script and then had to stand by helplessly as it systematically had all the excellence sucked out of the story.

Moore took complete responsibility for the suckage, but my impression from the podcast was that it was a problematic ep from day 1 (before a writer had ever been assigned).
