See! Even the ones I think I know, I don't know. Therein lies the problem.
The last stand part of X Men: The Last Stand was problematic on a lot of levels.
So the X Men generally not being down with the killing was the reason that Bobby didn't kill Pyro during their battle? Because that also was not so much with the sense making. As a general rule when someone is trying to fry you, it's ok in my book to take them out. Maybe it's just me.
I think that
Bobby didn't kill Pyro
because he had a
name, face, and personality.
That's not so much a character note for
Bobby
as cowardice on the part of the screenwriters, I think. Much better to
have the good guys kill off the characters just introduced in this movie.
That's perfectly cricket.
Oh!
Jamie Madrox
was
Multiple Man.
Oh, yeah. He was yummy. Did he ever show up again after he got ambushed as a diversion for the Golden Gate-jacking? (Which was also amazingly ridiculous. There HAD to be a better, less obtrusive way to get over there all stealth-like.)
I don't think so, kat. As for stealth, if that's
what they wanted--put everyone on a sheet of metal and fly them over.
I guess they needed
time for the X-Men to actually get there, and to disperse some of the effect of the decoy.
Because otherwise it'd be too easy.
I fear I shouldn't think too hard about this movie, or I shall lose some of my post-popcorn flick glow. Despite the nit-picking, I must say I had a good time while watching it.
I will say that I want Pirates 2 to come out tomorrow.
Yeah. Sorry about that, kat. I had no love. But I didn't go in expecting a glow. Glad I saw it, because I'm like that. But I don't think it's a good addition to the X-Men multimedia franchise.
POTC2, OTOH--I don't really care what it's about (although I like the idea). I just want to see it. And I'm getting absurdly excited by
Miami Vice,
although I expect it to get lousy reviews.
Oh, and I saw the trailer for SoaP, and all I can say is Samuel -Motherfuckin'- Jackson. Looks hilarious. Also saw trailers for My Super Ex-Girlfriend, Ghost Rider and Nacho Libre (which caused much hilarity in the theater but had me squirming in my seat).
ETA: No need to apologize. I suspect that were I more invested in the X Men, I'd probably have been disappointed as well. As it was, I was just happy to be inside a cool theater on a hot, muggy afternoon. Enjoying the movie was just a bonus.
I wish we'd had a SoaP preview. But I'm glad we didn't have one for
Nacho Libre.
God, that looks like the anti-ita movie. I'm curious about
Ghost Rider
and might go searching the web for that one.
My Super Ex-Girlfriend...
well, one of the Wilson brothers hasn't been working out. It looks way too neurotic for me to watch.
