I read Salon's review of V for Vendetta this morning. Stephanie Zacharek didn't like it, but then again, I don't like Zacharek's reviews very often. She always comes across as a little too snooty for my tastes, and doesn't seem to be able to just sit back and enjoy a movie (not all movies are FILMS, okay...), and to the best of my knowledge, she's never liked a comic book film, and seems to always want to dump on them.

I don't think there's any way this movie was going to be universally liked -- the subject matter alone is going to turn a lot of people off, let alone that it's a comic book adaptation. So mixed reviews, in this case, are a good sign, I think.
I really want to see it again.

Yeah, the reviews I've seen have been very polarized. But a mix of "Fantastic!" and "Terrible!" is a lot more interesting to me than everyone going, "It's okay."
I did like the one review that... I can't find now, which vexes. He seemed confused by the extremism, and to not recognize it as such, which was kind of amusing.
Seeing it tomorrow. Yay!
