[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

It's 9 degrees here today. "Feels like -5!" the weather channel tells me.

Bleargh. Cold BAD>

Date fun. Left my car by the bar, as my date wasn't drinking, and I was. The bar is, in theory, close enough so that I could stroll for about 25 minutes and go get it myself. IF it were, say, spring or summer.

But it's fucking cold, and my friend is going to drop me off when she runs an errand later.

I have a friend's bday party to go to tonight. Roller skating and karaoke.

Hmmm.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Daniel, I really really hope this works out -- job hunting has been so horrible and then the mess last time, UGH!

With my now job, which I now love, I cried when they offered me the position because I was sure I'd hate it there (and I felt I was down to no options). I cried almost every night for the first week because the work was tedious yet intricate and I was sure I'd never understand it and hate it even if I did.

Now I find the work IS tedious yet intricate and I still need to ask a billion questions but a) everyone knows that and there is a deffinate "all in the same boat" camaraderie and b) they treat their staff with respect and don't obsess about stupid shit.

The firm has a high turnover because of the tedium, but the camaraderie is amazing. Last night was a good-bye for a guy moving on. A former employee (who left to go to law school) came by to say good-bye to him. One of the ATTORNEYS came to the party (most firms support staff and attorneys don't hang). As I left work the head of HR (who couldn't make it) asked me to give Gabe a hug for me. Its cwazy good.

I have no idea if your new place will turn out to be great in some unexpected way, but I'm going to hold out hope for you that it can.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I just gave my landlord 30 days notice.

Meep. I'm moving in less than three weeks.

Was only cat napping fitfully as opposed to sleeping, so I bit the bullet and made the call. E-mailed the girl I am taking over the place from as well. Need to look into moving co's now.

I suspect I can probably take a nap and actually sleep now that I took the leap of faith.

Yeah, much better. Still a bit daunting with the disorginization and other factors.
So glad to hear that the environment has improved today, Daniel. I hope that the trend continues in this fashion.
Date fun.
So nice to see good date-age things. Do we have plans for date numero cinco*?

*Wrestling costumes optional.

Cats are driving me bonkers. They want to walk on the laptop keyboard. Not to get anywhere. Just to piss. me. off. And get attention. The next bit of attention they get might involve canned air blasts.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Go Cass! Change is good--but hard. We decided to move from NY to LA, and were here in five weeks and we have never regretted it. I bet this will shake your life up in a fabulous way, which you totally deserve.

move out and draw fire

Much envy of Cass, for getting Portland, and Portland, for getting Cass.

Spring is springing here. It's nice. Fruit trees are all covered with softy pink flowers, bulbs are sending up green shoots. Birds are here, for the only time during the year. Magpies are nest-building. (I know this because one dropped a stick onto my car today).

This somehow tempers the $100 oil change I just got.
