Sometimes I just hate having friends. It's so damn hard. I asked how my friend had handled a situation, in a roundabout way, in front of her (granted, student and underclassman) boss in our mutual class today, because we don't talk enough that I know what's going on with her; and after class she said, "Never do that to me in front of my boss again. He doesn't know what's going on, and it puts me and my job in a bad position."
Which, granted, I could have picked a better time to ask her about it--but I was only asking out of concern, and it wasn't in any way phrased so that it would reference her job, and it's not like I see her more than in class anyway, so I wouldn't have had a chance to ask her.
But I sent her an email asking that, should we get into a conversation like that again, she not
order me
to do something; she ask. To which she replied, "I hope we never get in a conversation like that again."
Okay, I realize the mundanity of this and that I'm making something of a bigger deal than it really is. But would it have killed her to at least acknowledge that that bothered me? Instead of throwing thinly veiled blame at me again? jesus. I might just become a hermit. Honestly.
Sounds annoying, SA. She's not the boss of you.
I really dislike handling mail.
I'm sorry SA.
Thanks to the patented Buffista~ma my day at workdidn't suck more than it had to. I avoided a meeting!
howver, I got to Mom's to discover I taped the wrong channel for hockey AND managed to cut off the part of the USA game.
Instead of a tape full of hockey! I had a tape full of CNBC. Hockey was on MSNBC. But tomorrow I'm going to get it right. I wish I had tivo because trying to tape around games showed right in a row really hard. Thank god it's all live and they list the exact times the games are on.
I can't wait for it to be Friday.
t remembers that this is your friend, bites tongue
Sorry, SA. I also hate miscommunications. Bleh.
SA, sorry getting chewed out by a friend for an honest mistake sucks. she should have apologized.
OMG! I totally forgot to tell you guys what happened at my great-grandmother's funeral luncheon! (I think) Nora, I can't WAIT for you to go off on this.
My Eldest Uncle, said, to my sister, in front of about 15 relatives, and I quote -
"Yeah, she smokes. And she wonders why she doesn't have a job OR a man!"
awaits indignation
I think they're just all stunned.
I know I was when I heard about it.
Is your Uncle's name "Cliff"?
