Jeez, don't get all Movie of the Week. I was just too cheap to buy you a real present.

Spike's Bitches 28: For the Safety of Puppies...and Christmas!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

It's possible I'm overthinking this.

Ummmmmm. [insert not-a-mom disclaimer]

Seriously, if this is a habit with people's daycares, maybe some parents could team up to boycott these things until the workers discover the nifty new combination called calendars and forethought.

Or I could be projecting my frustration over certain PhD coworkers who still can't figure calendars out.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

That's the sort of thing that happens when you forget a snack.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Lillian was sitting next to her, made a note of this, and proceeded to stick her hand in front of the other baby's nose to protect it from the attack of the snot sucker.

Heh. Lillian the snot-sucker slayer....

Shit's all sorts of different now.

The thing about daycare is that, IME, they KNOW that you will do anything for your child to NOT BE DIFFERENT. And so, they don't plan. The only time I freaked out on them not planning was when they all of a sudden (Like, Nov. 10th) decided to be closed on Veteran's Day. Enough of us parents freaked out on her and she kept the school open. So sometimes, it's worth freaking out, sometimes, NSM.

If I only had a brain...

So young, and already an activist. You must be proud. (Seriously, great empathy for such a young kid.)

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I am back from just over 4 hours of getting poked and prodded at the urgent care facility. If I go to my regular doctor he is not allowed to do blood tests, and he was not there first thing this morning anyway, so I went to urgent care. I got IV liquids, IV antibiotics, and a flu test (negative). Four hours after I took my tylenol, I asked if I could take more, they said no because my fever was gone. I told them it was coming back. They didn't believe me. Twenty minutes later it was back up to 101. I threw a fit when they tried to get me admitted to the hospital, so they are making me come back tomorrow for more IV antibiotics and liquids. They think the infection may have spread to my kidneys.
