Of course, I followed that up with tears of terror that my mother would get custody. I had a detailed escape plan, if that happened.
Oh good Lord yes. A world of yes.
The worst part is that they're still together. And hating every minute of it. I can't bear to be in a room with them both at the same time. Luckily that rarely happens.
I just got a phone call. I've got a job with the company I interviewed with twice. It's $8K/year more than the last place that I worked, but it does involve an hour drive each way. Office casual, so I have to wear my nicer clothes.
Still? Job! I start Thursday.
I called Andi at work already.

I'm going to throw my voice out there a child of divorce. My parents have been divorced for over 2 decades now, much longer than they were married. It was definitly hard on my brother and I but my parents worked very very hard at their divorce and have a really good relationship. When I was little, right after the divorce, I wanted them to remarry but as I got older I realized that the divorce was the right decision for us as a family.

I didn't cry myself to sleep or anything, but I did ask my parents what took them so long when they told me they were getting divorced.
