I'm so evil and... skanky. And I think I'm kinda gay.

Spike's Bitches 28: For the Safety of Puppies...and Christmas!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Ah, well. Here I am at work, so I guess I'll err on the side of caution, even though I don't wanna.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Perhaps we can just offer you a generalized "They're all asshats and you are absolutely right," libkitty.

Thanks! It's funny, but that actually helps.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Betsy, are you sure he's losing it? Sometimes it's playground extortionists (AKA Bullies) taking it for themselves, and the kids are too embarrassed to tell their parents.

Signed, BTDT, I loved my parents, but feared the bullies....

If it's not bullies, sometimes a kid who has suddenly gotten real good at a subject will get singled out and is embarrassed by the singling out. "Losing" the notebook can be a quick way to subvert the process.

I'm not saying these are likely, or indeed that I know your child. However, I do recall childhood rather vividly and there may be more than one explaination for the sudden pattern.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

You took membership in a martial arts secret society that demanded celibacy, didn't you? To strengthen your chi, right?

Yeah, if that's the case, where's my damn chi?

All is well that ends in pizza.

Second interview went well.

Still not for the job I originally applied for, and not for the job I was referred for, nor the job they asked me to come in for interviewing today, as the person I was going to interview with today was in a big meeting.

I'm supposed to call Tuesday afternoon if I don't hear from them by then.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I think I hit my "studied too much" point today. A classmate and I were quizzing each other on matroids, and he asked "Why are we interested in the Fano plane?" and my first answer was "Because it's pretty."

Woe to the fucking wicked.

I know that moment. Far, far too well. You took a break at that point, right?

I really needed to, but we had a meeting with our advisor that ended up taking an hour and a half.
