Congrats, Nora!
vw, can you work on your paper if there's no work "work" to be done?
MG, I kept meaning to send vibes for the C situation yesterday and forgot. Glad to hear it's starting to work out. And yay! for possible promotion, although I can imagine the news about your assistant has taken the sine off your day. Much ~ma to her.
Does anyone else remember a story last year or so about chocolate as a cough suppresant?
I've heard that caffeine can help when you're having a (mild) asthma attack, and chocolate contains caffeine (right?), but other than that I can't imagine it being a cough suppressant. Although, if it, it'll make this sinus infection cough I've got a lot easier to bear.

This is what I've been doing, for the most part...also, surfing the web, of course. I'm supposed to have a meeting with someone at 12:30. She doesn't appear to be back in the office yet, though.
I don't feel I know Nilly well enough to blame her for stuff. I usually blame Harvey, but then he wants to make it up to me by snuggling and purring.
I thought we were blaming Scola these days.
Well, I found an article about the study: [link]
Prelim. study, featuring 10 healthy volunteers, and coughing induced via capsaicin. It took a bit more capsaicin to induce coughing in those who had been given brom...something, a component of chocolate, than those who had been given codeine, or a placebo. Innnnnteresting, but hardly conclusive.
I gotta go get ready for work. Bleh.
That's dreadful, MG. Ovarian cancer is so hard to diagnose in time.
She just got the prelim diagnosis and they are doing a needle biopsy today as they get her referred to an oncologist.
She is an older gal, not sure of her exact age, but I'd say late 50's, early 60's. She had such a hard time coming back after carpal tunnel surgery, that I'm just really worried...I mean, that is a breeze compare to cancer.
Oh, MG. I hope they find it hasn't spread.
