Spike's Bitches 28: For the Safety of Puppies...and Christmas!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

vw, that's a fabulous cut, and a gorgeous color -- and so shiny! You're so pretty, lady!

Trudy -- either standing or running, it'll melt as long as the water is hot enough.

Mostly lurking...

see you ignored our entreaties to go blonde again

No. I didn't, actually. I went in with a picture of my hair blond, and said I wanted that.

It would have been at least $100 more, because we would have had to strip my hair, then add highlights on top of the color. I couldn't afford it. So, red it is.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Welcome, Olivia Rose! Congratulations, Cashmere and DH!

My top spots keep trying to send me to Arkansas and Louisiana. Um, no, thanks? Portland is in number 5. It's starting to sound tempting, I've got cousins in Oregon, not quite sure where.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I feel I have infected the thread with Portland oost. Go me!

I need a pharmacy that delivers. And special dispensation to pack two bags.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

My iPod is playing Bob Dylan's You're Gonna Have To Serve Somebody. "It may be the Devil, or it may be the Lord, but you're gonna have to serve somebody". I'd like them to play this at mass when they get to the Eucharist. "Soylent Green is deities! DEITIEEEEES!!!'

ION, I've had my photo taken at work today. That was fun, and there are some damn fine photos. I want to get hold of them and use them for my dating profile. I'm supposed to be in a suit, which was the case from the waist up at least.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Yay on babyness!

Aimee, I think that a move would be great for you guys. Good luck figuring it out.

Is the Plei picture the one where her bracelet got caught in her bodice and things were precariously placed?

I have pulled up craigslist. To look for jobs. The problem is: I don't know what I could do.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Yeah for Matt's mom!!! It's so nice to get (relatively) good health news. Now her condition needs to improve, because I'm greedy that way.

Yeah (and welcome) Olivia Rose!!! What a pretty name.

This is a bit of a letdown after that, but back to yesterday's egg discussion:

Let eggs sit for a little over 3 minutes (3:20, let's say).

I'll have to try this, Teppy. My family always did 3 minutes, so perhaps that little extra makes the difference. Although, Cass's recipe:

Bring the water to a boil, prick an egg end, toss into water, wait six minutes, pull out and rinse in cold water, whack in half, scoop guts with spoon and eat. It leaves the whites actually cooked which is my big -ish. And the yolk not. Which is the only reason I want to eat s-b eggs.

is tempting because her egg issues are my egg issues. Question: How do you prick an egg without crushing it?

There are some skills I could learn that I haven't. ( cataloging) but some of the big issues that I don't know , aren't touched ( budgeting , grant writing, etc) at most of the schools. Most of the people I know that have gone to school, but were in libraries ( more than one is key) before they started were extremely fustrated by the academic vs. real world solutions to problems.

I have been in several libraries, both before and after library school. I always thought library school wasn't important (except in getting jobs) until I went. I learned so much there. However, even though I thought my library school was outstanding, it was not great on library management, and I really regret that.

::cough::nope::cough::

They were some pictures I took for Tep when she was having a bad day and needed someone stern to motivate her. PVC and Crazy Oz Hair were involved.
