Fred: So you don't worry that it's possible for someone to send out a biological or electronic trigger that effectively overrides your own sense of ideals and values and replaces them with an alternative coercive agenda that reduces you to a mindless meat puppet? Shopkeeper: Wow. People used to think that I was paranoid.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't feel I know Nilly well enough to blame her for stuff

It may even have been her tagline. She's a kind soul. You should get to know her. Plus, bonus faulting.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I'd love to get to know Nilly, we just never seem to post at the same time.

Remember what I said about Harvey purring and snuggling to make it up to me when I blame him for stuff? On cue, I tell you. Right this minute, purring up a storm on my lap.

Yay Nora.

Remember how I was so excited to have my assistant back. She was out for 7 months and has been back since mid-October.

She just got a prelim diagnosis of ovarian cancer that may have spread to her lungs. She is having a needle biopsy today. Fuck.

Oh, MG. That's just awful. Poor thing! Much ~ma headed her way.

Poor MG. Poor MG's assistant. This sucks.

I'm still stunned. I knew she wasn't feeling on top and had been getting checked out, but this was NOT on the list of maybes.

I'm just......wow. The call with my boss's boss AND her boss about my "maybe promotion", right before I got this news, has lost all importance.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Jeebus, MG. I'm so sorry. Many good vibes to her.

Congrats, Nora!

Oh, dear. I'm so sorry about your assistant, MG.

{{{{{{MG}}}}}} It's ok. You be worried about your assistant, we'll be excited for you about the prospect of promotion.

Does anyone else remember a story last year or so about chocolate as a cough suppresant?

Amy - Dec 20, 2005 7:40:26 am PST #731 of 10001
Because books.

Congrats, Nora!

vw, can you work on your paper if there's no work "work" to be done?

MG, I kept meaning to send vibes for the C situation yesterday and forgot. Glad to hear it's starting to work out. And yay! for possible promotion, although I can imagine the news about your assistant has taken the sine off your day. Much ~ma to her.

I've heard that caffeine can help when you're having a (mild) asthma attack, and chocolate contains caffeine (right?), but other than that I can't imagine it being a cough suppressant. Although, if it, it'll make this sinus infection cough I've got a lot easier to bear.
