We know that you're trying to be there for her, but back in the day, I still felt pressure even when my partner was doing handstands and swinging from trees to make it happen for me. I felt like I was disappointing him because he wanted so badly for me to have this. It's like when your best friend tells you about the "funniest movie in the world", and you finally watch it with them, and it's not that funny, but you feel obligated to laugh a little because they love it so much.
Ah, the Napolean Dynamite Complex.
Oh, wait, totally different conversation...
But it's a hell of a stress therapy technique.
Must clean house. Again. It feels like mom just left and Pamela will be here tomorrow. Convienently, Pamela is the lowest stress houseguest in the history of guests. So long as I make sure the bed in the guest room is hers, she's happy. Which just means I can't doublebook unless they are someone who sleeps with me or sleeps on the sofa. How easy is that?
Oh, recommend it anyway. Nobody here will even try to stop you.
Only because they've already gone blind, and have no idea what you're talking about.
Hey now... I adore you both and have offered an open invitation to you both but Pamela is still the lowest maintenance of all. She already has a key, drives here, and likes her privacy.
I, frankly, don't really even need to be here. Except she brings me Mexican food, so of *course* I am going to be here.
But you are both on my list of preferred guests.
eta: for spelling, as usual.
Things Jilli Needs:
Yes, yes I do need all of those.
Anyone ever seen the Bowie video for "The Mask (A Mime)"? Oh my....
This is from his pre-Space Oddity days....
Skipping ahead because I have to whine. THEY FLOODED MY LIBRARY AGAIN. Sorry about the asscaps, but ^#$%^#*!
Fortunately, it was during the day this time, so we were able to save the books with only minor wetness, but I'm so sick of this. They did fix the pipes, but another agency upstairs persists in using a water cooling system for their computers that overflows and floods us.

Because water and computers mix
so
well. Sorry to hear they're messing you up.
This week I am scheduled for a four hour on call shift (I probably won't get called in), and I one hour store meeting on Saturday. Next week week I have just one hour on call shift, and that is it. Why do I have a job again? This sucks.
