Spike's Bitches 28: For the Safety of Puppies...and Christmas!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Mostly lurking...

I am showered. Go me!

Nora, look for e-mail today. I'll talk to Em, and if she hasn't sent, I'll send.

What is even happening?

YAY, vw!!!

Don't be afraid to give the library plenty of reason to cancel those late fees, either. You took the books out for work. You were then out of work for X period of time, and were too sick to go in and get them.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Cindy, it's the latter. Fortunately my mom a) has had similar issues in the past and b) is a RN. If things have not improved by this afternoon, the doctor will be called.

Okay, I didn't realize your mom was a nurse. I'm shutting up, because between her actually being your mother and a nurse, she's going to be able to nag you way better than I could dream of, what with having actual facts to back her up. I hope you don't need to call the doctor.

The status is NOT quo.

Note to self: 45 minutes=not enough sleep.

You have no idea...

Things are improving. I'm actually feeling a bit silly for having called in sick to work, but I have to remind myself that if I were up and moving I wouldn't feel quite so improved.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I've gone straight past gronk into bphhh or snrzz or something similar, and am now quite in awe of vw being all showered and such. I had a crazy productive 3-day weekend (cleaned the bedroom and niftied up the mantel, lugged a shitload of coins to a Coinstar machine that ended up paying for a new vacuum cleaner, and found a Trollope novel I've seen on TV but never read), and then slacked at work like a mad slacky thing yesterday, so today will be painfully funless.

Kristin, blergh on the 3-4 weeks and the 63 narratives.

I'm back! That's right, I'm back, baby!

Hec and I were just admiring you up last night, bt, talking about your strength and resilience and the way you've leapt into working the Wally, and yes, I'm going to leave this sentence just exactly the way it is.

Sean, that is so freaking cool. Even with Alanis's new un-pretty hair, still so freaking cool. Did she do a handstand and then beep your nose? (Please say yes, even if she didn't) I'll be vibing hard for spectactular success for your sworn-to-secrecy show.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Trollope novel I've seen on TV but never read

Ooh! Which one?

He Knew He Was Right. It's just a paperback, but it's something like a Dover edition - the original typesetting and page layout, fully illustrated. And I'm pretty sure that if I slung it right, I could take out someone's eye with a corner of the spine.

Not that it's going to be a fun or joyous read; the BBC miniseries disabused me of that notion. But, damn, it's good, in a grim dark way.

No, it's a frelling painful book and not fun or joyous in the least. But so good.
