Spike's Bitches 28: For the Safety of Puppies...and Christmas!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

The hair model things are good for some people, but you have to understand that they are there to practice a particular cut - so that's more or less what you're going to get. For some people's hair, that's fine. For me, NSM. But your hair is pretty straight, and your features can probably handle just about any style and look smashing. So forget I said anything.

I was admiring my own hair in windows as I walked the dog yesterday. I'm so happy to have found a guy I want to go back to. (And my best friend in Chicago and my sister have both been to him since I went, in addition to my boss who was the originial recommender. Funny.) But before you ask, I don't have a pic yet. Well, I have one on my work computer, that I think I've posted before, but it only really shows my eye and a little bit of hair.

Right, that was with Tom's pirate pic, which I really expected to get a little more reaction. Arrrgh.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I used to hair model for color. Because while I am totally picky about the cut, if it's not something I have to commit to forever, I am slutty as hell for color. It was fun actually... Overprocessed fun.
That takes half the fun out of it right there.
Whoops. Doesn't mean you know where you are going when you start wandering??? I didn't mean to be a killjoy. Swear.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

ANNOYING -- I saw the new Broadway Sweeney Todd last night, and now I have the music in my head. I cannot find my CDs anywhere, which probably means I had the OCR on cassette tape and not CD to begin with, and the iTunes store doesn't carry it. They have friggin' Company, but not Sweeney. In what world is that fair?

[eta insult to injury -- DH just walked in (he was out buying groceries) and told me that our favorite neighborhood restaurant has been replaced! It used to be an amazing seafood place, now it's a Cajun restaurant. Which of course we'll still go to, because we love Cajun food, but I'll really miss Blue Star's "dragonfish" -- the catch of the day, flash-fried and drizzled with wasabi oil. Mmmmmmmm.]

iTunes doesn't have Sweeney Todd?? How weird!

I'm feeling all healthy because I actually made myself dinner. Granted, it was pork chop in some molasses/soy/ginger/garlic/oil combo, with rice and green beans, which is not hugely fancy, but I also made enough to bring to work! And sliced up and packaged some peppers (red/orange/yellow) for snacks. Because I really want to fit in my dress for the company party this coming weekend...

Our wings are not tired.

How did it compare to the old? I love the music. Dearly departed DH used to sing Nothing's gonna harm you to me all the time. (Twas a lie, but that's another story) I have the sheet music around here somewhere, not that I can play piano.

eta: and Johanna, he sang that beautifully.

I was unimpressed. This is a very gimmicky "experimental" production, and I didn't think most of their choices worked -- it was all "let's be weird for weirdness' sake" where it should have been "let's pare down this show to the bare essentials and expose its beating heart." But I'm in the minority thinking that -- it's gotten nothing but rave reviews in the press.

I'll take your word for it.

By the way, my little sister is going to be in NYC from Friday morning for about ten days. She's going to have a lot of time on her hands, with not much money or people to hang with. She's already planning to hook up with Trudy, who I think she's encountered before, though I can't remember the details. But if there are other folks in town who can take pity on a poor girl with nothing to do, she'd be mighty grateful.

She's great fun, much more outgoing and gregarious than me, a violinist, into music of all kinds, and generally just a really good time to hang around. I'll shoot her email and cell to anyone who wants, or v.v. She'll be staying at 10th and Lex.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Cutting each other's hair? Have none of you seen Her Alibi with Selleck and Paulina Porizkova? The only reason for ever watching that movie is the hair cutting scene--total foreplay. Hum.in.a.

Sorry to hear that. I think I need to get a DVD or Video of the original.

Cutting each other's hair?

I used to cut the boys all the time, and DH when he was crazed for time. I hate cutting his hair because it is very very thick and really tough for a non-pro to get it right. The boys go with him now which works for me.

I probably can remember every single time I have had my hair cut. It's a thing where I hate when people touch my hair. Goes back to when I was a kid and had long hair that people touched. Ick. The boys know they are welcome to hug and kiss me all they want, but don't touch the hair. I don't mind mom or my sisters cutting it, but I'm very unfond of strangers touching it. Ick.

I cut my own hair sometimes. Curly hair is a lot more forgiving than straight when it comes to that.
