Spike's Bitches 28: For the Safety of Puppies...and Christmas!
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
lobster ravioli in cream sauce
YUM.
It was spectacular, I must say. The sauce wasn't too heavy, and had large pieces of crabmeat in it (blue crab, I think), along with some julienne-d strips of red pepper.
This looks like something just twisted enough for a Buffista baby to wear.

I love red peppers in cream sauce over pasta! I should totally have that some time.
Adorable. Yes, all Buffista babies should have one of those.
Loving thoughts sent to Cashmere. Rest! Let those around you wait on you hand and foot.
She sounded very good on the phone, feels well, and hasn't had contractions or anything like that. Everything is high and closed up tight. Her twin sister is visiting, so they had someone to watch O, while Christopher took Cashmere to the hospital. Her own OB was the OB on duty, so she even got to see her own doctor, who said to stay off her feet, and call him on Monday morning, to come in for a looksee. They couldn't find any reason for the spotting when they examined her, which hopefully puts this well within the realm of harmless (but SCARY!) flukey pregnancy thing.
Still, I command it to stop, and for that little baby girl to stay where she belongs, and get fat and strong, 'til it's actually time for her big debut.
I'm glad to hear that she is ordered off her feet. This is a tough thing to do when you have a little one unless you are commanded to do so.
I had all this energy and motivation to attack my long list, then I read Beverly's list and I got tired. I think I'll take a bit of a rest.
Adorable. Yes, all Buffista babies should have one of those.
Pretty sure several of them do. I know I've seen Mallory in one. So cute.
Cash, stay rested and strong. We'll be thinking of you and the wee girl.
Sending "hope it's just a minor flukey pregnancy thing" vibes towards Cash.
Dear Baby Girl,
Go back to sleep and stay safely where you are until February. If you come out now, you'll be shorted on birthday presents your whole life.
I just went to Starbucks for a nice morning treat and ended up giving a little quilting lesson to the girl behind the counter. It was much fun, and a nice way to start the day.
This almost makes me wish for a Starbucks here. And enough motivation to leave the house.
I have almost all my Christmas shopping done, with only a couple of little, not critical things to purchase...I think. But lest you get congratulatory or jealous, I have not yet:
- written a list of the people I'm giving to and what they're getting, so I could be missing major bits
- wrapped, packed or mailed anything, and most things really should have been mailed at least several days ago, as mail to and from Juneau tends to be craptastically slow.
- cleaned or decorated the place at all; currently my floors and futon are covered with an interesting but gross combination of yarn and paper bits and copious cat hair. blech.
I have promised myself to get the critical presents finished, wrapped, packed and mailed today. One won't make it, because I know I won't have time to do any of the others if I take the time to finish making it (knitting the top of the stocking is going slower than expected - worry not Trudy, this is not yours), and even if I do focus on this one, I still may not finish. I spy a lunch errand on Monday or Tuesday in my future.
I suppose this all means I should get off of b.org and start working, huh.
