I also have a question for the hive mind: The cat Harvey seems to have lost most of the hair on the backs of his ears. Instead of having the nice velvety covering that I would expect, his ears feel like bat wings. Part of me is highly intrigued to note that the skin is dark grey to match his fur. The rest of me is pondering WTF? I can see wrinkles in his skin at places where the ears bend. I am not seeing any signs of irritation or wounds, and neither me nor Daniel recall observing him scratching in any notable way. Any clues?

Andi, I just checked kittenish's ears and there is a fine fur on the backs. No idea why Harvey's ears aren't. But the bat wing thing is interesting if not something I understand.
