Timelies! Joe and I are going to try to see Narnia tonight - I'm very excited about going out.
Last night, around 8:15, after I was already in my pajamas, my friend called to say she was stranded at a Christmas party with her kids up in Chapel Hill. Her husband is in Afghanistan and her car was dead. So, Joe and I packed Ellie in the car and went on up to get there. When we arrived, there was an entire room full of hip, nicely dressed people, and me in my pajama pants and sweatshirt. It was the kind of moment that new parents just cringe at - you can see the party right in front of you, but you can't stay and you really don't fit in.
Anyway, we got my friend and her kids, managed to get all three carseats in the car (yay 3rd seat!), and headed home. I wouldn't trade my snuggly munchkin for a party, but the dichotomy of life before/after baby was really striking last night.
eta: EpicT, your decaf is ready. I sent you an e-mail with the details.
So I think Thanksgiving crush boy may actually count as a BF type thing now. Hrm, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with one of those though. And we're both leaving for home tomorrow. Argh circumstances.

I'd suggest lots of kissing. Other ideas may flow from that.

Yeah, no that we're good on. It's all the relationshippy stuff that I may at some point have to deal with that's freaking me out. But I'm putting the cart before th horse there, I know. So I'll just freak quietly, and ignore it 'til it goes away.
WindSparrow beat me to it, Jars. Kiss. Kiss muchly.

Is this just for a holiday break, or is it more permanent?

I don't know why, but I just flashed on the scene, I think it's from the BtVS episode
Pangs,
after Spike has been chipped, Harmony won't give him someone to eat, and he's moping the streets of Sunnydale. At one point, he peers in the window, where a gang of vampires is feeding on some poor human.
Um. Just thought I'd share.
How come nobody at the party drove your friend home though, Stephanie?
well, it's about an hour and fifteen minutes from our house. Someone was going to have to drive a long ways and I knew she would rather it be us. She and her husband (before he left) helped me out a lot while JOe was gone and I was pregnant.

Oh it's just for break, but we're still so new, just. But anyway. I am not the person who gets neurotic, so I'm done with thinking about it. Mostly.

Because it's Christmas?
Pangs
is the Thanksgiving episode. And now, I
know
you're one UnAmerican who will always remember Thanksgiving.
Timelies!
Poor Stephanie!
I just went to Starbucks for a nice morning treat and ended up giving a little quilting lesson to the girl behind the counter. It was much fun, and a nice way to start the day.
Hi Bitches!
I have done close to no Christmas shopping and I just realized that Christmas is in, like, a week. This cannot be good.
