Spike's Bitches 28: For the Safety of Puppies...and Christmas!
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
That makes so much sense!
Fortunately, my bed is right next to a door.
No wait...better yet. I don't live in earthquake country anymore! (please Fate, do not take that as a challenge...I can see the headlines now...)
Very calm hugs to all in shaking-lands.
How're things Chez Zmayhem this fine weekend day?
Emmett's finishing off the icing for the morning cinnamon rolls and watching Spongebob. When he switches to Jonny Quest DVDs I'll go join him out there. JZ's curled on the couch in front of the heater reading
Cutter and Bone.
She'll be heading to church around 11:30 and afterwards is going for a spa day with her good friend Marta.
It's sunny out right now, so I think Emmett and I will be making a bike ride in Golden Gate park down to Stow Lake where we'll do the paddle boats. (He went there yesterday with JZ.) Later we'll probably play a little catch. Then I'll drag out all his recently acquired Teen Titans toys, or his Playmobil Pirates or his drawing pad and tell himself to keep himself occupied while I take a break and fiddle with my playlists.
It's gorgeous here, and if I had any sense at all, I'd be outside.
I think Mal and Owen would be neck-and-neck in a cute-off. Mal's got those round cheeks; Owen's got those gorgeous eyes.... Of course, Deena's three are also amazingly cute. I woudn't say anything bad about Kara even if I didn't think she's darling. I wouldn't want her to think me into the cornfield.
t This comment in no way impugns the incredible cuteness of the other Buffista sprog. I'm just temporarily out of adjectives.
Here's one of the books I gave JZ for Christmas. A beautiful color plate history of fashion. I think it would appeal to several Buffistas here. It's very beautiful and not all that expensive.
JZ reports that Spongebob and Patrick are currently wearing rubber gloves on their heads. It is her opinion that they both think it is fucking great.
The folks on the GBACG list kvell about that book.

Raq, you might not be far off in thinking that that quake felt worse than the ones you remember from CA. I'm a native Californian and can get blasé about quakes. But when I read about the devastation of quakes elsewhere, I remember that besides being in a more developed country, California is constantly upgrading its seismic building codes. And I think that makes a key difference in how an earthquake feels and how much damage one sustains. I'm glad you and yours are okay.
I'm lingering in bed. I've been having a very hard time with motivation lately due to issues that have been going on for a year and a half. I have a very hard road ahead of me and it gets so overwhelming that I just kinda bury my head under the covers. But I have to try hard to be logical. I'm not going to get out of this hole by hibernating. I have to attempt to climb.
So tucking yourself amongst the stacks of books on your floor is a decent survival strategy.
Woo! Just because we've never had an earthquake doesn't mean one shouldn't be prepared.
We had a short 3.6 while I was home. It's the first earthquake I remember experiencing.
Unfortunately, the books in the house are in the fall-on-you bookshelves. Fortunately, we were on the second floor, where there wasn't much to fall on us. We'd just have collapsed down into the bedrooms downstairs...
I need to stop looking at apartments. We can't move for...um...9 1/2 more months.
Hey. Pink got married Saturday.
{{Cass}} I don't think I've expressed my sympathy, and even if I have an extra hug is always good. Peace to you and may your family remember the truce for awhile.
I have been really productive today. It is a pleasure to look at my list for the week and see most of it crossed off. DH helped me put the xmas stuff away in the storage place. he asked me if it made me sad. But it doesn't. One of the Really good things about Christmas is I know how to put it away, and where to put it away ,and I know it can stay put away until at least the day after Thanksgiving. There are so many things that refuse to stay put away, or are needed when you thought you didn't need it, but christmas stays in the box.
