Trudy you should definitely send a letter. Maybe you can get some cashmere socks out of it.

Spike's Bitches 28: For the Safety of Puppies...and Christmas!
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Ooooh! Cashmere socks!!!!!
I've become such a 'schmere ho. Last year for Christmas I got my very first one: lilac cardigan, pearl buttons. It's pretty big now because of the weight loss, but since it's a not-so-boxy sweater it looks fine. This year I purchased a red cable-knit turtleneck and Santa Mom brought me the now-legendary purple twinset. sighhhhh...
Since I plan to wear the thing until the end of time it was likely worth the effort.
It's pretty big now because of the weight loss,
JZ's prone to using pretty clips in the back to make oversized sweaters and tops more fitted. Cheap and cute!
Cashmere socks are very luxurious, and relatively inexpensive for the amount of pleasure you can derive from them.

I read this and thought, Trudy must *really* like bagels...

{{{Trudy}}} I'm sorry for the asshat at Lord & Taylor. My boss is very much like that. I cringe every time I see her doing a return.
sillies. its not THEIR money. and most companies would rather keep a customer.
Alright, its all cold and snowing intermittently. sister and friends are having dinner and drinking in various places in hoboken. do I a) get my ass over there and join them for dinner; b) take a nap then grab a PATH train and join them for drinks; c) go to sleep and wake up next year?
what IS it about this holiday that makes me think I like to hang out in a noisy fucking bar? and ones with SMOKE (since we'll be on that side of the Hudson) for Pete's sake?
do I a) get my ass over there and join them for dinner; This. Then if the smoke in the bar gets to you, you can exit, after having had some fun together. If it doesn't bother you, you can make a big night out of it.
The hardest thing to do on this holiday is to live in it. Do it. For me.
Watching Amelie this morning has inspired us to have a Francofun day. I think we'll be eating salad nicoise for late lunch, and burgundy and stinky cheese by evening. Accordion music is already playing. We could go down to Cafe Claude and get Lillet or some aperitif. Maybe check out the pretty French Catholic church nearby. (An ex commented on flavors of Catholocism thusly: "I prefer the French approach to Catholocism. They're not in it for the guilt; they're only in it for the beauty.")
It's good to have a theme for the day. It sharpens thiings up.
The Castro theater is showing Moulin Rouge tomorow too which could be a fun outing. I haven't seen it on a big screen since it came out. I think they've got a Busby Berkeley marathon going on today.
