What is even happening?

Yeah, Deena. I'd take her to the doctor. 9 out of 10 times these days, my pedi takes my word for it when I say my kids have conjunctivitis, and just phones in a script. She probably has conjunctivitis, from rubbing her nose, and then rubbing her eyes. Sometimes, Chris gets allergic conjunctivitis (which is just as nasty, but just starts for reason other than infections, and requires a different type of drops).

Wash your hands like there's no tomorrow, by the way. And while you're at the doctor, I'd ask your doctor if Aidan comes down with it, if they'd need to see him, or would just take your word for it.

It's just standard blood draw.

Thank goodness.

But I'm already starving so I need to get out the door and let them do it. The reward is that there is a Starbucks next door to my OB, so I can get a latte while I'm out.

Yes! (You should get a goodie too, just in case /bad influence).

Thanks for that, billytea. Like I needed to be more depressed.

Owen is so Christmassy! Even household should have a little kid in jammies for Christmas. Even households that don't celebrate Christmas.

My DH is trying to be all "with-it" and just said "I think I'm going to buy [the Wagner opera] Tristan und Isolde, coz it's the diggity-bomb."

It's kind of cute, in a sad way.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Thanks, Cindy. I hadn't run into this one yet. I think we may take Aidan in anyway, since he got an ear infection last time they got a cold. I don't know quite what happened. We all got a little sniffly right before Christmas; day before yesterday we started feeling better, last night Kara played exorcist and today we're all much sicker than we were even before Christmas. Argh.

I'm trying to commit suicide by cuteness, and had to call special attention to this "Pinky and the Brain" moment.

I take it that the "exorcist" comment means stomach virus? We've had that all week. Chris got it late Christmas night, and was scarily lathargic the next day. Ben and Julia had less violent versions for a couple of days. My mother (who waited two days to go to my aunt's so she wouldn't bring the bug over there) got sick Wednesday night--the first night she spent at my aunt's. She was even sicker, yesterday, but on the mend by evening.

My doctor said a lot of times, the kids cause the conjuntivitis, themselves. Kara's probably at an age where with future colds, you can encourage tissue use, hand washing, and that she keep her hands away from her eyes.

Re the sniffles--by any chance, do you have a real Christmas tree? On Ben's first Christmas, he and I were sick a couple of weeks leading up to it. He even had an ear infection that didn't clear up with the first round of anti-biotics, and we had to take him to a not-our-doctor-doctor, the day after Christmas.

I noticed while we were out that we both felt better. We went home, and felt lousy again. We went to my parents' house because it was my mother's birthday, and felt better again.

On the off chance we were allergic to the Christmas tree, Scott and I took it down that night, and vacuumed like crazy. The next day, both Ben and were much better. We now always have a fake tree, which I don't like as much. I wish I knew what kind of tree set us off, because sometimes, one type will bother while another will be okay.

No, we have a fake tree. And yes, something stomachy with Kara. And the doctor's office just called, 25 minutes before they open, to tell us to come on in. I love our doctor. Thanks, Cindy, it's nice to be hand-held now and again.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Owen is adorable, but yeah, soooooo grown up. Have a baby, Cash.

The Cindyloos (I promise to never use this term again) are allergic to Christmas? Bad tree.

The cute overload site just made me laugh. And sneeze. What's up with that?

you've got FOUR helpless baby animals, many of whom will gladly kill each other once grown
Hee!

I woke up with a raging "hangover" from two beers and way too much crying. Took headache stuff, a vitamin and just drank about a gallon (okay, quart) of water. Insta-fix. Now I am going to try and get a little more sleep.

Deena, I hope the sprog (well Kara now and Aidan preemptively) feel better soon. Good doctor. Cookie!

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Muskrats in the beaver hole! Muskrats paying rent!

I love this bit.
