I just think it's rather odd that a nation that prides itself on its virility should feel compelled to strap on forty pounds of protective gear just in order to play rugby.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

'Til we dance away...

Hey y'all. I've been lurking away for the past few months, but I figured I'd come out of hiding.

Two months ago, I packed up my stuff in my car and drove off two states away to start over and try and make things work with my former fiance. Once I got here I figured out that he wasn't even considering that an option, but I'd already found a job and didn't consider going back, since I was also trying to get away from my parents splitting up and some of my friends back home had stopped speaking to me since I'd decided to move, anyway.

So here I am, out on my own. It's been really hard sometimes since I don't have a support system here at all, but hopefully I've gotten stronger. Much love to juliana. I envy you moving to a city full of wonderful people and away from your memories, and I look forward to doing that someday myself.

Hey. New board.

Did he have a tatoo or a name tag?

Neither. Just a halo, but it was broken.

Does he (anatomically mytholoigically speaking)) appear to be English, Latino, Asian, or Anglo-Saxon?

Greek, actually.

Good for you!

Well, at least you seem to have settled down some fresh roots. Do tell, are you enjoying yourself?

Greek, actually.

Cool! I bet he smells like olive oil and sin!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

but hopefully I've gotten stronger.
Sassy, you really sound like you have gotten much stronger. I hope that you can find a place to make new memories soon, whether it is in a new place or just a fresh start where you are now.

Always Anti-fascist!

Just mildly unhappy but have to use my premium-cable asskicking skills somewhere. (Turns on 2005, kicks it like Tony Soprano) Va a fungol, you piece of shit. I don't think it'll bother us again.

If I only knew what direction he was, I'd point mine at him.

brillig

Hubby got a call yesterday from a maintenance nurse. When I asked him what she maintained, he said, "Me."

With the number of heart attacks and back surgeries he's had, the hospital considers Hubby "at risk." Neither of us needed to ask what they think he's at risk for. According to their experience, the hospital doesn't think Hubby will ever be able to work again. Which is not as horrific as one might think, because I'm hoping they'll tell the disability folks we applied to the same thing.

The accountants and managers at our insurance company should all be tied up and thrown to the crabs at low tide, but the vast majority of doctors, nurses, and staff at the local hospital have been wonderful to work with. The nurse talked to Hubby for half an hour, and she'll apparently be checking back with him in the future.

Still, it's a hard thing to hear, considering what he used to be, that this is going to be his life.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Kara is freakin' priceless.

Also, watch for close-out paint at Home Depot. When they sell the mistakes, you can get good paint for $5 a gallon. I don't want to think about how many cans of paint I have in the basement from when I discovered this fact and went bonkers, but suffice it to say, I managed to get a few room's worth. (Mind you, we have 10x10 bedrooms, so one can does a whole bedroom with two coats AND leaves enough for touch ups.)

Plei, thanks for the tip. I need to start picking out paint for the baby's room. I never thought to look on the mistake shelf.

Cindy, yay! on the Relay! I just signed our loan paperwork last night and I'm breathing easy at least until the first payment comes due. Everything works out in the end. I can be an optimist when I have to be.

Sassy, I hope things are working out for you. You're braver than I would be in the same situation.

The boy's off to his grandparents' house. He's been on his best behavior and I hope it continues, lest they bring him back early. Although it's damned quiet around here! DH and I barely waited until they were out of the driveway before we took off for a sit down meal at an actual adult restaurant. Tomorrow night we're going to a movie. Tomorrow morning, I'm hoping to sleep in.
