If I only knew what direction he was, I'd point mine at him.
Colorado.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Hubby got a call yesterday from a maintenance nurse. When I asked him what she maintained, he said, "Me."
With the number of heart attacks and back surgeries he's had, the hospital considers Hubby "at risk." Neither of us needed to ask what they think he's at risk for. According to their experience, the hospital doesn't think Hubby will ever be able to work again. Which is not as horrific as one might think, because I'm hoping they'll tell the disability folks we applied to the same thing.
The accountants and managers at our insurance company should all be tied up and thrown to the crabs at low tide, but the vast majority of doctors, nurses, and staff at the local hospital have been wonderful to work with. The nurse talked to Hubby for half an hour, and she'll apparently be checking back with him in the future.
Still, it's a hard thing to hear, considering what he used to be, that this is going to be his life.

He has our ~ma.
Kara is freakin' priceless.
Also, watch for close-out paint at Home Depot. When they sell the mistakes, you can get good paint for $5 a gallon. I don't want to think about how many cans of paint I have in the basement from when I discovered this fact and went bonkers, but suffice it to say, I managed to get a few room's worth. (Mind you, we have 10x10 bedrooms, so one can does a whole bedroom with two coats AND leaves enough for touch ups.)
Plei, thanks for the tip. I need to start picking out paint for the baby's room. I never thought to look on the mistake shelf.
Cindy, yay! on the Relay! I just signed our loan paperwork last night and I'm breathing easy at least until the first payment comes due. Everything works out in the end. I can be an optimist when I have to be.
Sassy, I hope things are working out for you. You're braver than I would be in the same situation.
The boy's off to his grandparents' house. He's been on his best behavior and I hope it continues, lest they bring him back early. Although it's damned quiet around here! DH and I barely waited until they were out of the driveway before we took off for a sit down meal at an actual adult restaurant. Tomorrow night we're going to a movie. Tomorrow morning, I'm hoping to sleep in.
Sing us a song you're the pony-man...
That made me think...
Who can take a meadow,
Sprinke it with dew
Cover it with hoofprints and a miracle or two...
The pony-man, the pony-man can,
The pony-man can 'cause he mixes it with love
and makes it all feel good...
Cause he's a pony-man
Pony-maaaaaaaaan
Tellin' his kid sister "no you don't..."
Who can take a meadow,
Sprinke it with dew
Cover it with hoofprints and a miracle or two...
The pony-man, the pony-man can,
The pony-man can 'cause he mixes it with love
and makes it all feel good...
If you put this on a T-Shirt, I will buy.
Yargh! Annnnnnnnnnnnd we're back to feeding strike land. Which means non-stop nursing from now until bedtime.
Sigh.
on Dec, 21, the Supreme Court of Canada lifted a ban on swingers' clubs, ruling that group sex among consenting adults is neither prostitution nor a threat to society. >[link]Okay, there's a decision I'm pretty sure we are unlikely to see in the USA...
Fucking Canadians....
