Smart woman, Cass. Resist the google, at least until you have an actual diagnosis. The list of what could be wrong with a human body is fear, itself.
You're all in my thoughts and prayers, and in my heart.
Maidengurl, I'm sorry for what you're going through with CJ. I feel a little bad for CJ, too. I could so see that happening to Ben, and to most boys, really.
Aimee, thoughts and strength for your friend, too.
As Trudy notes, the pond is a lot bigger, too. And the experience of going from ruling the middle school to being freshmen in the high school can through the bullies off their game long enough for the kids who had a hard time with them to find their niche.
Around here, the bigger-pond part of that isn't the case. Most of the surrounding towns have one middle school, and then one high school. Still, I think Middle School is hardest because of the age of the students, and because (at least around here) it usually is a bigger pond than elementary school was. By high school, kids have found their niche, their crowd, and can see light at the end of the tunnel, too.
Dang. I posted when the thread was young and then forgot that I need to *subscribe*.
My good thoughts are winging to those various Buffistas and family in need of them.
I have to go to the firm Christmas Party in about an hour and a half.
I'm not sure I want to.

Make an appearance. Grab a glass of champagne. Get some shrimp. Do a circuit and exit with a dessert. Ten minutes tops.
That sounds like a very good plan.
I think I shall adopt it, and then call it George.

This. I meant to say something earlier but I checked my email and mememeandmyfamily worry ensued.
I hope that CJ is suitably chastened by the lack of toys and this will be a learning experience for him so neither of you need go through it again.
Aimee, I am so sorry about B & E's sad and tragic news. My thoughts are with them.

Thank you. And hi Spidra!

Excellent idea!
I think I shall adopt it, and then call it George.
And then take George out for a glass of bubbly, some shrimps and a quick tour about the room before taking George home with a purloined dessert. Lucky George.
I'm probably the last person in America to know George=boyfriend, right?

I think it's the bunny from Of Mice and Men. Much parodied on Bugs Bunny, which is how most of us got our high culture infusions.
Not the bunny, just the friend of the big guy (if I recall correctly.) The bunny was unnamed. Maybe.
It's been a while. NOT my favorite Steinbeck work.
