The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Ick, ita. You should mention that to whatever doctor(s) you see next about things.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

It's creeping me the fuck out, but when this ache starts I feel completely useless.

I always know when I'm really sick because I completely lose the ability to deal with anything. Anything that doesn't involve crawling into bed seems impossible and frustrating. I get all emotional and shrill. It's godawful.

What is even happening?

Oh ita, like you don't have enough challenges, right now. I'm so sorry.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Yes--he wanted some woman not in the industry who'd be impressed with all the pomp and circumstance.

in other words, someone no one knows who will be content to stand in the background and be referred to as John Stamos' wife/girlfriend.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It's not the worst headache I get, though. The pain is minimal compared to the migraines -- which depress me, but it's patently because I'm having Yet Another Migraine, and not about whatever's at hand. And the normal headaches that start from the back, or the sinus ones -- those are just irritating. It's the ones that start in my teeth and spread out to the nose and chin (and I think they're the ones that fuck with my speaking too) make me want to cry because I'm a waste of oxygen.

What is even happening?

I generally give celebs a pass for stupidity in interviews. I figure that could have been a "I'd love to share this with someone who hasn't experienced it" sort of comment, as easily as a "I want a rube who's content to worship me" sort of thing.

The switcheroo, on the other hand, I can't get past that. I know he was young, and probably in over his head, but it makes my skin crawl.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

ita, that just sucks. I keep hoping your docs will figure this out and make you better.

I always know when I'm really sick because I completely lose the ability to deal with anything.

Seconded. I get this way when I'm really sick or really really stressed.

What is even happening?

ita, in all the testing you've had done, has anyone checked your hormone levels, thyroid, endocrine gland--that sort of thing? A lot of your headaches are due to the post-concussive condition (right?), but reading the description of the depressive one just make me think hormones (not in a dismissive way).

Nutty - Jan 11, 2006 8:31:12 am PST #9225 of 10002
"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Speaking of hormones, did you all know that "stop going bald now!" treatments are banned for Olympic athletes? Me neither. It turns out Propecia went on the banned list last year, because one of its key ingredients can work as a masking agent for certain steroids. Gonna see a lot of bald athletes at international competitions in future.

Depressive episodes are bad. I'm gonna take a stand on that one.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

So is Nick Lachey going to the Tom Cruise school of finding a baby mama?
