Speaking of hormones, did you all know that "stop going bald now!" treatments are banned for Olympic athletes? Me neither. It turns out Propecia went on the banned list last year, because one of its key ingredients can work as a masking agent for certain steroids. Gonna see a lot of bald athletes at international competitions in future.
Depressive episodes are bad. I'm gonna take a stand on that one.
So is Nick Lachey going to the Tom Cruise school of finding a baby mama?
It's the ones that start in my teeth and spread out to the nose and chin (and I think they're the ones that fuck with my speaking too) make me want to cry because I'm a waste of oxygen.
I want to cry just reading that description. Not the teeth! Never the teeth!
Heh. The Warriors rookie center Ike Diogu is getting advice on how to guard Shaq for the first time.
Diogu said coach Mike Montgomery has instructed him to do his work early, to establish position on O'Neal and keep him moving, preferably not right under the basket.
Of what that will be like, forward Troy Murphy had a suggestion for Diogu: "Put his car in neutral and try to push it around Pleasanton."
Stupid RSI back - so have not been posting much and won't be for a while. To leave you with good thoughts, this is a really funny (non-political) bit - probably photoshopped

ita, I'm always depressed the day after a migraine, FWIW. That's so common I've come to expect it.
I'm always depressed the day after a migraine, FWIW
I'm always having a migraine the day after a migraine. Okay, not always. Four days out of five. No time to get depressed! Yay, me.
Except...not.
Anti-depressants are one of the prophylactics they suggested for migraines, but with the fainting, the neurologist decided to start with anti-epileptics.
I just feel so much worse with this headache. I'm not used to being formlessly depressed. I at least like a consistent focus.
So, I don't care for Alito at all. I hope he's not confirmed, but I'm pretty certain he will be. This is one reason among many:
As you know, when Judge Samuel Alito applied for his job in the Office of Legal Counsel in the Meese Justice Department in November 1985, he submitted a list of his memberships and other activities to impress Attorney General Meese and Assistant Attorney General Charles Cooper with his enthusiastic "philosophical commitment" to their particular constitutional, legal, and political point of view.
Among the organizations he listed was "Concerned Alumni of Princeton" (CAP), an organization created in 1972, the year Judge Alito graduated. The organization was described in the press at the time and in its own literature as opposed to the increasing number of women, African Americans and Hispanics at the university. The organization also published articles critical of the rights of the disabled.
A letter Ted Kennedy wrote regarding Alito. Link and quote from dailykos.com

Why is it that so many people (teachers, even) are so unswervingly convinced that there really is an unabridged version of The Princess Bride? I know his commentary is convincing, but come on, folks -- Florin and Guilder? You could just look them up.
