I'm getting the pig!

Thanks, ita!

At least, I think I'm thankful. My new officemate probably thinks I'm quite odd since she walked in on me looking at kitties with four ears and other various deformities. Ah well. I wouldn't have been able to fool her for much longer anyway.

So, yes. Thankful.

TV has me all confused. Shows keep switching nights and times and my whole schedule is out of whack. I need Tivo so it can tell me what to watch and then record it for me.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Well, I wouldn't trust it to tell you what to watch...It gets strange ideas, at times. The other bit, though, is really nice.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

People keep expecting me to work today. Does that seem right to you?

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Analyses of the medicine on House, episode by episode.

Now Debetesse is going to do nothing else all day long.

Mr. Scola’s wardrobe by Botany 500

For House, I'm still racking my brain trying to figure out how flying from Baltimore to Philadelphia or Newark, and then driving to Princeton would ever be preferable to taking the train.

So, Angelina Jolie is pregnant with Brad Pitt's baby.

does this mean they will admit to being a couple now, or will they just say he is the sperm donor?

Coding and Sleeping

After reading and listening to stuff about Alito, I'm not seeing anything so far to block his nomination. He seems to have a good respect for precedent, so I'm not seeing him as all that radical.

He sounds reasonable, but his voting record leans far to the right. I expect he'll join the court anyway.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

If I were there, I'd ding him simply based on what Ted Kennedy brought up in questioning yesterday. When he was up before that same committee 10 or so years ago (presumably for confimation of his current position), he said under oath that he'd recuse himself from any cases having to do with 3 or 4 companies that he named by name. But Kennedy listed a case where according to what he pledged, he should have recused himself. But he didn't. Alito responded that he had nothing to gain monetarily from that case, blah blah blah. Well, he said under oath that he'd recuse himself from any case having to do with that company, not just ones where he thought he'd stand to gain.

He perjured himself.

Plus if he went back on what he pledged to the committee then, what's to say he's not bullshitting in his answers now?

GONG!
