Get up...get up, you stupid piece of... What did you do that for? What's wrong with you? Didn't you hear a word he said? All of you! You think there's someone just going to drop money on you?! Money they could use?! Well, there ain't people like that. There's just people like me.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

700 words in. I have no idea what the fuck I'm writing.

Our wings are not tired.

I'd take the 8888 pretty post number as a sign that your writing will rock. As always.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

It's totally in character for me to space like that (I really shouldn't leave the kitchen when cooking), but usually I get warned sooner!
Given that this is how I started my recent fire, I'm hugging my smoke detector tightly. I just have it on a bookshelf almost at the ceiling but not on the bracket due to the twitchy. That way I can move it to the floor when it goes off while I am cooking and move it back. Taking the battery out has led me down the path to sometimes forgetting to replace it.

Last week's Waking the Dead is disturbing me. The aquakiller is hot. I mean, it is disturbing me for a lot of reasons but those I expect.

Bonus Houseses tonight. I haven't seen the first either.

You're writing interesting shit, Allyson.

It never cease to infuriate me that I live in a society in which an something like the Violence Against Women Act needs exist. Goddamned stupid humans.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I had a candle incident a while ago and I smelled the smoke and had the fire extinguished before the smoke alarm went off. Functionally, I have a steam alarm.

Bradley Cooper is headed to Broadway. [link]

If a movie is ever made of Devil In The White City, Mark Sheppard should play HH Holmes.

Not as useful. Get a new detector. I will happily relink the one I pimped last night. I don't like the idea of Buffistas flambe.

No need to re-link. It's interesting that the hush button nearly doubles the price on those smoke detectors.

Write, Allyson. Write like the wind.

Did anyone else watch the pilot of Emily's Reasons Why Not tonight? I did. I don't know why, possibly just for Heather Graham, but I digress... This not even subtle ripoff of Sex in the City was not only not at all funny, nothing in the show -- not a single line, or joke, or bit of action -- came even remotely close to pinging my funny detector. It was easily the least funny or interesting show I've ever seen. After the first five minutes, I decided I had to watch the whole thing, just to see if it could sustain that level of not funny. It did. I hope this show dies very quickly. Possibly even before another episode airs.

Apoplectic is a word, right?
