I got a great haircut from my hairdresser today. It was exactly how I wanted to turn out. I was planning to clean this afternoon, but I decided I should go out and about while my hair looked good.

I have to run to the grocery store to pick up two things, so I have spent the last 1/2 hour updating my iPod before I leave. And I wonder why it takes me a long time to do anything.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I have reason to believe that the next episode of House, which I may or may not have seen (I can't say due to confidentiality agreements), is AWESOME. Freaking awesome.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

You're a family of plague-carriers, sarameg.

I refuse to buy stamps online because they charge postage to deliver them. That bothers me irrationally. But I will need some 2¢ stamps, I guess. Which aren't handy to carry in my money clip.

Curses!

I have to say, the SoCal post office is FAST. I mailed my sister something on NYE, and she got it this Wednesday. In London. Pretty sweet. I don't care where I was mailing to from Michigan--it never got to its destination that fast.

You're a family of plague-carriers.

Ya know...My brother's family was all plaguey at christmas. But no one caught that.

I think I need to do something to boost my immune system (oh, like exercise) because I used to have one in which a cold was something I got only every couple of years, and then not full blown. I had three last year. All following air travel, so maybe I just need a damned space suit. I'm over it.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

sara, you can get 2 cent stamps online (I just bought 2 sheets myself). I have at least 3-4 sheets of 37 cent ones.

I just straighted up a hall closet and am pleased to find out that I am down to 2 shopping bags full of things to ebay (I started at 5). I also discovered a broken wardrobe hanger thingy and tossed it out, so YAY more room. The decorations and tree are coming down today. Not that I did much, but enough to fill a couple of boxes.

The to-do list I made for myself last night before bed did not get done today. Not one thing on it. I am hoping to swing by a drug store or grocery after dinner and take care of a couple of item, but that will still leave 4-5 things I'll need to do tomorrow. darn me.

I have been to two card stores and looked through the card section at several other stores and I can't find a suitable birthday card for my mother. We do not do mushy in our family. We do funny (and I mean actually funny) or affectionately insulting.

I know I can get them online. I just have stuff that should have gone out this week (der) and probably needs to go out before I normally get stamps I've ordered online.

I don't mind paying the postage because it means I don't have to make a mad dash to get to an open office before or after work, stand in line, etc.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I just use the postage meter at work and hand a couple of bucks to the finance guy every so often. Much simpler.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I used my last 37 cent stamp yesterday, so I'm good to go with a new book of stamps.

Tree is down. Many pine needles have been laboriously swept up from carpet and hallway and carpeted stairwell. Feh. For the remainder I think I'll pay Emmett a penny a pine needle to pick them out of the nap.

Emmett and I played tennis this morning. We warmed up, then we did some Volley Tennis, then Tiny Tennis (just using the service area), then we tried to break our Rally Record of 103 strokes, but could only get to 91 after multiple tries.

JZ bought a lock for the bikes and put a basket on hers. She and Emmett have gone for a bike ride in GG Park, with possible paddle boat riding in Stowe Lake. If it rains on them, they're doomed.

I'm going to get my bike fixed and tuned up and then we can take family excursions. JZ will be out most of tomorrow so Emmett and I will likely take a long bike ride.

Pine needles - so tiny and annoying. I think I'm going to take the Friday off before President's Day weekend. I need more time away from work. It's good for me.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Everyone needs more time away from work!

I had a great lunch with my brother and his wife & her sister at Chow on Church Street, which restaurant I was able to recommend based on previous Buffista expeditions. Now I've cleaned house and mounted ski racks and done some laundry and I'm burning a copy of Scooby Road for a friend. I may nap.

Tomorrow I get up at o-dark-thirty to drive up to Tahoe for a day of skiing with the family.
