Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Ginger ale, not diet! I'm going to get that right now myself.

Verizon has been jacking me with inconsistent billing recently, but I just paid when they asked--nowhere near as much error as tommyrot, so I don't have to pay anything this month, and very little next.

In annoying billing, Adelphia kept threatening to cut off my service--I hadn't realised that my account # had changed, and I was electronically paying the old account. What a hassle to change it.

Water & Power on the other hand sent me a note to the effect of "You're paying to your old account, and we'll transfer the money this one time, but please stop." Adelphia required long investigation and lots of sighing and kvetching.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Wow. A nice, helpful and common-sensical thing for them to do. Weird.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Verizon kept trying to charge my expired credit card for 2 months, and instead of sending me a polite "Your credit card has expired" notice, they waited until 2 months had gone by and sent me a "WE WILL TURN YOUR PHONE OFF IF YOU DO NOT PAY!" notice instead. Very rude.

I'll probably be switching to Time Warner's digital phone this month, if they can schedule the appointment. It'll save me $25/month, plus get me DTV.

Nondiet is too sweet, except when I have no choice. I also like it room temp because it doesn't taste as sweet that way. I'm particular.

They are hunting for the errant transaction. I wanna say, "Dudes. Do none of you know how to do an SQL query?"

There was no ginger ale! But I do have a brownie and ginger peach tea. I'll make do.

Now tagless for your comfort.

We've got that. It's handy. But SBC called me with the exact same deal in regards to price and service, so I may be switching back to SBC. Then my phone won't go off if the power or cable goes out.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

You bought another car?

Good lord, Daisy Jane. I just figured out who you are. Consider me slow.

I got that one right away, but am I the only one who was taken aback by "Mr. Jane" or "Mr. J"? I was all "wait, I thought his name was...oh, right."

That's a worry I have, but in a year of service, my cable's only ever gone out once, and TWC's customer service kicks Verizon's ass.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

The new fresca is non-caloric and uncaffeinated. Me, I find the taste too light to cover the faint (splenda?) aftertaste, but if you can deal with that, it's a nice compromise. I mean, I like ginger ale, but-- too many empty calories.
