You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I wish we could silence our nutbars...and not only because I'm catnip to them.

So they keep trying to roll around in you? That could get inconvenient.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

there's more free enterprise in American religion

That's like saying there's more chocolate in Hershey's kisses.

Always Anti-fascist!

Yeah. Well, we're all a little weird, but the closest I get to prosletizing is recommending "The Wire" a lot.(And I can't even spell prosletize correctly.)ETA: You're not as far off as all that, bt. For all that you're joking...I've been followed, touched without my consent and sprinkled with stuff. Yikes. One guy a few years ago bothered me for long enough I threatened to get a cop. Man's Law 1 God's Law(maybe) 0.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Even though I'm not a fan of organized religions, there are plenty of religious people that I respect and admire. So no, relgious != nutbar to me.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Is it just me, or does Robertson's version of God sound a lot like a three-year-old? I mean, this is the universe governed in a spirit of "Gimme! I don't wanna share! You can't make me!"

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Even ignoring the sheer offensiveness of it, I'm puzzling over the logic. So, if Israel hangs on to everything, that's the same as it being God's? And if it doesn't, then it's not? The government of Israel is God? That's... well... yeah. If so, then it can't really do wrong, can it? Q.E.D. (or, per Nilly, M.Sh.L.) I'm off to prove black is white, then.

Most hard-line Christians seem more into the Old Testament than the New. The Old Testament God bore a lot more in common with Zeus and other petulant pagan gods than Jesus.

Always Anti-fascist!

I've always thought that, too. Not that God thinks that, but that Robertson people do. I believe that God, if God exists, takes the long view...it's one of the perks of being infinite.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Fay thinks we do. She sees America as primarily a religious country, not unlike Egypt in that way, and distinct from England or France.

nods.

Yes. Yes, this is what I think. Definitely.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

it's one of the perks of being infinite.

If this were the Boxed Set thread, oh the funny predicaments we could get into. (There was recently a discussion of what happens if you're immortal and in a shipwreck, and have to walk your way out of the Marianas Trench.) Somehow, I think the godly among us would find that line of speculation kind of obnox, however.
