I like the way the walls go out. Gives you an open feeling. Firefly is a good design. People don't appreciate the substance of things. Objects in space. People miss out on what's solid.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Y'all. Seriously, snow. in. Texas.

Poor little Ozymandias (spelling it out so as not to confuse with similarly named buffista pets). His belly is so close to the ground he got a nasty shock when I let him out. Also...Home early!!! Because of SNOW. IN. TEXAS.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Aargh! As if the amount of overtime G's been doing over the last few months isn't bad enough, he's been ordered to work this weekend. We're supposed to go to Philcon this weekend. I can still go, but that means I'd have to drive to Philadelphia and back by myself. Not to mention that I'm unsure if I would enjoy myself much without him. Yes, there will be a bunch of people I know there, but it's not the same.(Not to mention that unless he puts something in his LJ explaining the situation I'm gonna end up having to answer the question "Where's G?" a lot) If I don't go, I'm out the cost of the membership, and G says he'd feel guilty if I didn't go. Aargh, what to do...

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Can you find anybody to rideshare up there? Or go by train or something?

Train's kinda expensive, plus I'll have my guitar with me. Unfortunately, the only folks i know of who I reading up there from the DC-area aren't going directly back.(Visiting relatives)

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Neat address I just came across when putting someone in our database. I'm utterly charmed:

Person's Name
Organization
High Lighthouse, Tayport, Fife, Scotland

I think I must someday live there, just to go around telling people my address.

Also - the other address I have for him is C/O Project Atlantis!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Poor little Ozymandias

We probably need pictures. How's your nose, Daisy?

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I should have taken a picture of my cat watching me wrap retirement gifts this morning. After I kicked her out of lying on top of the wrapping paper and pulled the paper from her teeth, she jumped up to her usual "hanging out" platform on her condo (about 5 1/2 feet up) and hung her head off the edge watching me wrap. Her ears were perked up in complete fascination and her eyes were huge in excitement, and her paws and tail were dangling over the edge.

When I put up the Christmas tree tomorrow, she's going to flip out.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Have you plugged it in? I'm not sure when I'm next going to be by both a computer and my TiVo, so in the meanwhile: connecting and configuring.
